* One in every four driving tests has an emergency stop exercise in it, so you may not be asked to do one.

* Here you will demonstrate to the examiner how you can pull up "promptly and under full control just as though a child had run off the pavement"

* The exminer will give you the instruction to stop when the road is clear behind you - react quickly to his instruction !

* When you come to rest after the controlled stop, secure the car with the handbrake and select neutral.

* Move off when instructed to do so by your examiner.
