City look a 'Gift Horse' in the mouth

Peter Gilbert 4.4.01

Despite the calamitous efforts of David James in the Aston Villa goal City still managed to lose this game. They hadn't lost to Villa at all for 14
years; so there's another record achieved by PT's Men of Mediocrety.
In fact not only did David James play like a clown but the City players
managed to eclipse him with Rowett and Akinbiyi missing 'sitters' and Simon Royce waltzing over the line with the ball in his hands to award Villa their first goal.
City had scored first 'Thanks Dave we needed a helping hand, and the sight of the Villa 'keeper sat on his backside watching the ball roll over the line after a far from convincing shot from Davidson' was a sight to behold.

In the second half Villa applied some pressure and Hendrie shot from a
distance to edge them in front.

Oh I can't go on describing this game; it was just awful, now City have lost their last nine away games and the total lack of ability and passion is so depressing.

Basically what has happened is this: We've had the heart of the team ripped out with Savage and Izzett injured. Our strikers are a waste of space and the defence is over run.

We were in a position to push and go for a European place but the chance
seems to have gone now. We now need to win all of our remaining games to qualify realistically and sadly some of them are away.....so no chance.
