Tom Smeaton the former Leicester City plc Chairman has revealed that he is connected with a takeover bid, supported by a number of Leicestersire business people.   He claims that there are plans, should the bid succeed, to build a 35,000 capacity stadium with a retractable roof which would be adaptable on a 7 day a week basis as a major entertainment venue.

John Elsom has described this bid as disruptive and questions whether or not the 'gang of four' are involved.
