Fair Enough
by Peter Gilbert
So we didn't make it into the UEFA Cup then......it was quite
right really and totally in keeping with the season we've just
had.....no luck at all.
So where are we then ? This Fair Play UEFA bad luck news
should unblock things in our plumbing system. Whoever wants to
disappear down the plughole can now do so since there are to be
no Euro jaunts next season.
Already we hear that Keller will be on his way to play for a European
club, best of luck there Kasey, got lots of offers?
Rob Ullathorne whom we have stood by through thick and thin and
various injuries including his latest now allegedly says he would
rather go on the dole than sign for Leicester for the pathetic
wages they are offering him. Better money on the dole is it? You'd
feel proud in a dole queue would you? Careful you just might be
a Premiership footballer who has to come face to face with reality.
We've already talked about all the media speculation relating
to Heskey,Lennon, Izzett and Elliott plus of course O'Neill himself
who wants away so they tell, so we won't dredge all that up again.
Some would have us believe that Leicester City is a dreadful place
to be.
However we might also find that certain players out there consider
Leicester City a bright prospect, we are after all a top Premiership
club by virtue of the fact that we have finished the last three
seasons in the top ten and also made two Cup Final appearances,
one of them saw us lift a major trophy and qualify for Europe.
Pretty impressive stuff.
I would imagine that several disappointed Div 1 club players or
Premiership for that matter might actually dream of playing for
such a club as ours, and that they will admirably replace 'want
away' existing players if given the chance.
So let's not worry too much about Ullathorne and Keller and such
like and let us positively rub our hands in anticipation of those
who might like to join us.
Now about that Ipswich goalkeeper.................
