It is interesting to note a quote from Derby manager Jim Smith made towards the end of last season ‘I’ll be glad when this season is over. It’s been one of the most difficult of my career.’ Well if the chirpy chappy felt like that last season , I can only wonder how he must be feeling this season, pretty desperate I expect. Surely the board are only keeping him on until such time as they find a replacement. A Derby fan recently tried to tell me that they ‘could have had Peter Taylor.’ Surely if he’d gone there he would not be considered for the England job as appears to be the case at present.

I have to admit, I’m worried about this game, it is one we should win with style but if we should fail to do so it could herald a difficult time for us.

Let’s be honest we’re not playing too well of late despite hitting the top spot recently due to our magnificent defence and wonderful goal keeper. The rest of the team though appear uneasy and lacking in confidence.

We need a new ground, a new striker or two and something else in our midfield selection box, we need PT to stay for at least five years and we still need Stan to sort himself out.

I may be over pessimistic but I think I’m being realistic too. I would hate to see us fall like a stone after such a bright start.

Suddenly though as I write this ; it all becomes much more serious:

NEWS FLASH: *********PETER TAYLOR NAMED AS NEW PART TIME TEMPORARY COACH FOR ENGLAND

Suddenly the footballing world, all of it, knows who Peter Taylor is and I can imagine scenes from Leicester’s Season being broadcast all over the world. Bars from Amsterdam to Rio will have clips of our boys knocking a ball about in Royal Blue and White with PT’s serious face looking on. They will be puzzled no doubt.

All this frenzy can only be good for Leicester City as long as PT can keep his feet on the ground and his mind on the job in hand at Filbert Street. He will also need to drink a lot of ‘Red Bull’.

There will be a down side; suddenly all teams with English players playing against us will be playing out of their skins to impress their new boss. Also if PT is successful he’ll surely be on his way to somewhere bigger even if he isn’t handed the job as ‘God’s right hand man’ or even ‘God himself.’

Then again away supporters will be waiting for PT to fail then they can have a silly chant at him.

But I would say that this is good for us and if LCFC can match the achievements of PT and grow big enough to keep him interested then that’s good for us. Not that we’ve managed thus far, just the opposite in fact.

Also players will want to sign for LCFC and the England coach.

If he does leave the next manager will think positive after all ‘look what happened to PT when he went to Leicester.’

And fair do’s PT has shown a lot of promise in his short time with us.

Not so very long ago of course he was manager at Non League Dover Athletic; his meteoric rise is surely an example to us all.

But watch out Peter ‘Howard the Coward’ has already stabbed you in the back once and ask yourself this ‘Would you buy a second hand car from Adam Crozier? Just why is this smooth Jock the boss of OUR F.A?

So back to Derby………….it would be a very good start to his ‘new’ managerial career to beat a team of disillusioned foreigners with the most English team in The Premiership.

Leicester City can herald a bright new tomorrow for English football with PT at the helm.

Good on yer Peter you deserve it, and we’re all right with you. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
