Peter, I am a faithful Filbert and reader of your website and I applaud your conviction in reminding the football world of the tenuous link that exists between nurturing and grooming local players and the development and future of the game in Britain. It seems that the grass on the other side of the channel has a more luxuriant verdure than our own turf , given the clamour to fill the Premier League rosters with imported talent. Granted, there are some marvellous and skilful footballers all over the world but surely without being jingoistic in the I'm Backing Britain vein , we can acknowledge and support the droves of young people here who have their eye on a footballing career. Leicester has indeen been a beacon of wisdom in this respect and David Nish has always worked hard to seek out, support and develop budding talent for our club. How true that local heroes are last noticed after the fanfare of adulation for the exotic and different fades. Hard work, determination, courage and community loyalty have always been far more satisfying, if less glamorous, than the birds of passage who roost temporarily in the game.

Keep up the good work mate.
