This Matt Elliott story which was described as Assault by that great unbiased TV Pundit Alan Hansen ( who's only ever proved his knowledge in words, never action) is ideal material for F****t/Cov/Rams to bring up at work or in the pub to any Leicester fans who are good enough to speak to them.     It's also wonderful material for anyone with a Masters Degree in Hindsight.
Being a Leicester fan myself who was at the game, in fact the incident occurred right in front of me, I have a few thoughts on the matter.
At the time I thought it was a case of two players going 50/50 for a ball and Owen being a diving little squirt decided to lie down to break up the flow of the play since Leicester had Liverpool 'on the ropes'.    Looking at it again, it looks awful, but it was still a case of two players going all out 50/50 for the same ball and the smaller one coming off worse.   All this happened about 5 yards away from the ref.
Now people are calling for a re-trial,  but if they do that with one incident then they must also do it with several others which would entirely alter the result.
1. Let's look at Frank Sinclair's 'bookable' offences.
2. Let's allow Emile's goal which at the time was adjudged as offside, which clearly wasn't in hindsight.
3.Let's look again at the penalty. It should be disallowed or Owen should have to come back and take it again because a) his run up was illegal   b)two Liverpool players ran into the box before the kick was taken,  one in fact (Thompson) ran straight in front of the referee.

So if we want consistency, argue out all the points and we'll end up with Elliott sent off but winning 3-1.

Thank you and good night Mr Hansen.
