Ta Ka Kai Karate Association was formed 1982.
We teach Shotokan Karate, self-defence and how to keep fit.
Our students range from 8 – 70+ years.
All our instructors are fully qualified and certificated by the Scottish
Governing Board for Karate.
Our chief instructor (5th Dan) has been teaching Shotokan Karate since 1970.
We have two (3rd Dan), two (2nd Dan) and two (1st Dan) qualified assistant instructors with more than 25 years experience in instruction between them.
In 2004(Rumania),2005(Germany) The Ta Ka Kai Association was the only club to represent Scotland in the European Shotokan championships ( SKDUN ) Taking honours on each occasion. This year (2006) we will be in Latvia for the championships.
Ta Ka Kai has a very good reputation for producing a high standard of student.
We have a number of children who have achieved shodan (black-belt) under the age of 12 – the youngest being 10.
