SETTER - IRISH

I would like to thank all the exhibitors for their support and the sporting way they accepted my decisions. I was looking for a typical Irish Setter with racy outline, sloping topline and the Irish temperment and I was pleased with my overall winners.

MPD. (3). 1. Kewis’s, Kindenjo Lancelot. Well balanced 7 months old puppy. Promising head and expression. Good quarters. Moved ok for a baby. 2. England’s, Thendara Valentino. Very nice baby puppy more rangy than winner and will forefore need time to come together. Attractive head. Well boned with good angulation. Moved ok.

PD. (3). 1. McLarnon’s, Northamber Just Cause for Glenavna. My Best Puppy Dog. He hasa pleasing head. Good angulation front and rear and is well balanced throughout. Moved well. 2. Brownie and Mercer’s, Lindalloch Sunset at Apollogunner. Bigger than winner. Well angulated. Looked good in profile. Moved steadily. Just preferred head of winner.

JD. (4). 1. Christie’s, Romarne Hamish. Nice young dog with attractive head and pleasing expression. Good neck and shoulders and bend of stifle. Moved ok. 2. Delingthton’s, Balintyne Once in a While. Another attractive youngster with well shaped head and good outline. Moved ok. 3. Brownie and Mercer’s, Lindalloch Sunset at Apollogunner.

YD. (6). 1. Holehan and North’s, Erinade Starwars. Impressive young dog with handsome well chiselled head. He is lovely in profile with the correct sloping topline. Well balanced all through. Good angulation. He moved with drive. I gave him close consideration for the RCC and I am sure his time will come. 2. Brownie and Merecer’s, Apollogunner Wengers Star. Well made dog with good outline. Different type to winner. Moved well. 3. Ross’s, Drumwhaur Rob Roy.

GD. (6). 1. Vant’s, Berleydale Hadley. This is a well balanced dog, full of quality with a lovely head and expression. Good neck and shoulders. Good quarters. Neat feet and correct movement. 2. Barker-Bell’s, Balintyne Take a Chance on Me JW. Nice typy youngster. Good in outline. Well angulated forehand and good bend of stifle. Less mature than winner. Movement good. 3. McNeil’s, Glencarron Shakatak.

PGD. (12). 1. Bundred’s, Amberwave Tracker at Dunadry. Smart young dog with clean outline. Nice head and expression. Well balanced with everything in the right place. Moved steadily. 2. Stockton’s, Kespas Infrared. Atrtractive dog in good coat. Good head and expression. Nice in outline. Good front and rear angulation. Moved well. 3. Sheldon’s, Delsanto Isaac.

LD. (12). 1. Muir’s, Grayrigge Ewan by Romarne JW. Three lovely dogs. Well known handsome dog full of soundness and quality, with good head and expression. Neck fitting cleanly into shoulders. Well ribbed up. Tail well set on. Moved soundly off short hocks. RCC. 2. Stockton’s, Kespas Innuendo. Attractive head. Good outline. Racy body. Good hindquarters. In good coat. Moved well. 3. Gisby’s, Sutersett Billionair Bear.

OD. (2). 1. Lorrimer’s, Sh Ch. Karidell Connoisseur. Quality dog with a good head and kind expression. Good over the neck and shoulders. Well bodied up in super condition. Strong short couplings, good croup and tailset. Not overdone n anyway. A combination of quality with substance. Moved with drive. I was pleased to give him the CC and BOB.

MPB. (3). 1. Williamson’s, Kirwilldale Bewitched. Nice puppy with sweet head and expression. Good outline and balance. Though very raw moved ok. 2. Wilson’s, Castarabay Sweet Afton. Another nice puppy. Similar remarks apply. Winner has better outline at present. 3. Findlay’s, Thendara Sweetheart.

PB. (8). 1. Bott’s, Bardonhill Days are Dimaonds. Super puppy in lovely condition. Most attractive of heads with melting expression. Excellent overall shape. Good over neck and shoulders. Short coupled. Good tail set. Moved purposefully. BP. 2. Dale’s, Anlory Dreams. Another lovely puppy with a nice feminine head and soft expression. Good angulation of the forehand. Well sprung ribs. Good over the croup. Nice mover. 3. Naylor and Morrison’s, Bardonhill Singing Skies over Anlory.

JB. (8). 1. Muir’s, Romarne Hayley JW. Quality bitch. Quite mature. Attractive head, well angulated forequarters. Sloping topline. Good bend of stifle. Moved well. 2. Bott’s, Bardonhill Blonde Moment. Another lovely bitch from this kennel. Feminine head with sweet expression. Good neck and shoulders. Short coupled. Moved ok. 3. Buist and Wyllie’s, Jonola Petote Etoile avec Clachnanar.

YB. (9). 1. Chorley-Newton and Chorley’s, Outfoxed by Kerryfair JW. Striking young lady with attractive head. Nice size and proportion giving a well balanced outline. Good neck and shoulders. Good quarters and tail set. Nice feet. Moved well. 2. Bott’s, Bardonhill Blonde Moment. 3. Powis’s, Amberwave Blush.

GB. (11). 1. Naylor and Morrison’s, Anlory Cereza JW. Nice yong bitch with good outline. She has in attractive feminine head. Good neck and shoulders. Good quarters. Neat feet and good movement. 2. Gisby’s, Balbriggan Ace of Hearts by Suteresett. This is a sweet headed bitch who looks good in profile with good angulation front and rear giving her the correct topline. Nice tight feet. Moved well. 3. McDonald’s, Delsanto Martinique.

PGB. (7). 1. Watt’s, Shenanagin Shooting Star. Mature bitch of good type. Attractive head with good eye shape. Good front angulation and rear movement. Good spring of rib. Moved with purpose. 2. Cameron’s, Balnagown Ballroom Blitz. The second of two nice bitches. Just preferred winner as she was shorter coupled with better stifles. 3. Balbriggan Ace of Hearts by Suteresett.

LB. (10). 1. Hyslop’s, Baibreeze Belle Blonde by Raisbeck. Honest bitch with nice head. Well balanced. Well angulated in all departments. Well coupled. Moved well. 2. Naylor and Morrison’s, Anlory Valpolicella JW. Lovely headed bitch of good type who is well balanced with good angulation. Good feet. Moved ok. 3. Glencarron Dimple.

OB. (9). 1. Muir’s, Sh Ch. Romarne Melissa JW. A quality bitch I have admored before. In super coat and condition with an attractive feminine head, well balanced. Lovely outline, neck fitting smoothly into shoulders. Good over the croup with correct tail set. Moved with drive. She possesses excellent overall soundness and I was pleased to award her the CC. 2. Hunter and Browns’, Sh Ch. Braidmount Geisha Girl. Another well known quality bitch of nice size and proportion. Of good type with feminine head. Good neck and shoulders and is well constructed throughout. With good rear quarters she moved with purpose and drive and a worthy Champion. RCC. 3. Powis’s, Sh Ch. Amberwave Spangle JW.
