Southern Counties 2006
My first Championship show judging appointment. My thanks
to Southern Counties for inviting me to judge at this well run show and to my
very able stewards. Many thanks to the exhibitors for a super entry.
MPD. (6). 1. Hemming’s, Orlanset Highly Spirited. Well built puppy with good
bone. Pleasing head and expression, low set ears. Nice reach of neck. Straight
front. Good angulation. Moved well. 2. Moon’s, Deanway Mr Mestopholes. A lovely
headed dog with soft expression. True front and well laid shoulders. Good
topline held on the move. In good coat. 3. Cardwell’s, Lanstara Heart of a Star.
PD. (8). Two brothers headed this class. 1. Willis’s, Danaway the Lionheart.
Maturing nicely with good depth of body and spring of ribs. Lovely head with
appealing expression. Well angulated front and nice bend of stifle. Moved very
well. BPIB. 2. Roffey and Evans’s, Danaway Lancelot. Appealing head with nice
finish to muzzle. Good reach of neck set into well laid shoulders. Good depth of
body and sloping topline. Moved well. 3. Rorke’s, Cataluna Captivation to Zakhan.
JD. (16). Two outstanding young dogs headed this class. 1. Milligan-Bott and
Bott’s, Scotselaw Detriot Spinner by Thendara. A full coated dog in super
condition. A most appealing head and eye with good stop and earset. True front
with good angulation. Correct topline and tailset. Well muscled rear with bend
of stifle. Moved well. 2. Burke’s, Clachnahar Ami Pierrot. Well presented dog in
top condition. Pleasing head and eye. Good depth of body and spring of rib. Well
angled front and rear allowing ho to move very well. 3. Jones’s, Janter Manannan
Mac Lir. YD. (12). 1. Martin’s, Silvagem First Edition. Lovely headed dog with
kind expression. Good neck and shoulder placement. Correct topline and tailset.
In good coat. Moved well. 2. Burton’s, Redhara in the Red JW. Pleasing head and
kindly eye. Nice finish to muzzle, low set ears. Good outline and depth to body.
Well angulated front and good bend of stifle. Moved well. 3. Edwards’, Henaleas
Tuscany.
MD. (7). 1. Milligan-Bott and Bott’s, Scotselaw Detriot Spinner by Thendara. 2.
Jones’s, Janter Mannan Mac Lir. Appealing head and eye. Good shoulder placement.
Well bodied with spring of rib. Moved well. 3. Edden’s, Meadway Musketeer.
GD. (17). 1. Ciechonska’s, Caskeys Concept at Aiobheanne JW. Lovely masculine
head with melting expression and good stop. Low set ears. Arched neck running
smoothly into super shoulder placement. Well angulated front and good depth of
chest. Moved well keeping topline. 2. Burke’s, Clachnahar Ami Pierrot. 3.
Smith’s, Caskeys Checkmate.
PGD. (18). 1. Fauvrelle’s, Shaytell Andante. A mature dog with good head and
expression. Well bodied with depth and spring of rib. Good shoulder placement
and topline. Well bent stifles. In super coat. Moved well. 2. Lucas’s,
Braidmount Gentle Guy at Amberlight JW. Upstanding dog with appealing head,
kindly eye and expression. Well angulated giving correct topline. Moved with
drive. 3. Edward’s, Barleydale Lumiere.
LD. (18). A class of outstanding dogs, I could have awarded two sets of cards.
1. Mugford’s, Scotselaw Jackson at Lynwood JW. A beautiful headed dog with good
finish to muzzle. Lovely eye and expression. Strong neck flowing into well laid
shoulders. True front with good angulation. Correct topline and tailset. Good
bend of stifle. In super coat. Moved with drive. RCC. 2. Bailey’s, Covarney
Monello JW. A well balanced dog with lovely head. Nice reach of neck set well
into shoulders. Good depth of chest. Well bend stifles. Gently sloping topline.
moved well. 3. Bott and Morgan’s, Ember Gene Simmons Sings Quensha.
OD. (7). 1. Milligan-Bott and Bott’s, Sh Ch. Thendara Don Corleone. A most
handsome dog in full coat, presented to perfection with a super head and melting
expression. Lovely dark eye and square finish to muzzle. Muscular arched neck
flowing into shoulders making a perfect topline. True front with forechest and
good depth of body with well sprung ribs. Powerful rear end enabling him to
drive on the move, holding his topline. CC. 2. Ritchie’s, Sh Ch/Ir Sh Ch.
Gwendariff Dom Perignon JW. A lovely headed dog. Long neck and good topline.
Well angulated rear with well bend stifles. Very well presented and handled.
Moved well. 3. Richardson’s, Sh Ch. Kirkavagh Fidalgo JW.
VD. (6). A lovely class of oldies. 1. Wick’s, Sh Ch. Popeswood Pie in the Sky at
Birguma. A lovely headed dog with kindly eye and good stop. Good depth of chest
and spring of rib. Well angulated front and rear. Moved well. 2. Hanby’s,
Duncarreg Red River at Chantstor. Another super oldie, still holding his own.
Lovely head, good reach of neck and shoulder placement. Well bent stifle. Moved
well. 3. MsDonagh’s, Thedara Incognito Among Ronzalda.

MPB (5). 1 Chorley-Newton and Chorley’s Outfoxed By Kerryfair. Lovely p of
excellent type, feminine head, good neck and shoulders with a balanced well
constructed body with plenty of angulation. Sound happy mover, v promising
prospect; 2 Blackshaw’s Lanstara Definitely Maybe. Immature p who needs time to
develop, moved steadily, good bone pleasing outline; 3 Howlett and Condron’s
Siochanna Tiaquin Tierney.
PB (18). 1 Chorley-Newton and Chorley’s O B Kerryfair; 2 Brown’s Shandwick
Irresistable At Tifosi. Mature p of good overall type and construction. Balanced
body with good hindquarters and angulation. Just preferred the overall outline
of 1, sound mover in lovely coat and condition; 3 Bartholomew Kirkavagh Polonia
With Bartholeys.
JB (13). 1 Henderson’s Sametsuz Secret Affair. Mature young b in excellent coat
and condition. Feminine head, deep well made body, presents a balanced outline
moved well; 2 Townsend’s Follidwon Wisteria. Another nicely made b with a
pleasing head, good neck and shoulders, deep body with good angulation, moved
ok; 3 Ellis’ Brayville Love Affair.
YB (13). 1 Townsend’s F Wisteria; 2 Warner’s Strathmead Snowbunting JW. Pretty
headed b with a pleasing overall construction, deep body with good bone, in good
condition moved steadily; 3 Henson’s Withersdale First Lady JW.
MB (12). 1 Townsend’s Follidown Water Lily. Immature young b with lovely flowing
lines presenting a good outline, feminine head balanced well made body, moved
well with lovely tail action; 2 McDonagh’s Ronzalda Esmeralda. Soundly made b of
pleasing type, a little plain in head yet still feminine. Moved well; 3
Russell’s Melmara Ruby Tuesday.
GB (12). 1 Tully’s Highclare Catchfly. Pleasing type presents a good balanced
outline, deep well constructed body with well angulated hindquarters. Shown in
lovely coat and condition, moved well; 2 Crocker and Hammick’s Brabrook Fantasy
Believer With Riverbrue. Nicely made b, a little plain in head, however has a
pleasing outline and was one of the soundest movers on the day, a little short
of coat at present; 3 Powis’ Amberwave Truffle JW.
PGB (17). 1 Condron and King’s Brenrue Candice. Pretty b, feminine head, good
neck and shoulders, deep well balanced body with plenty of angulation, won this
class on her sound movement and unexaggerated overall type; 2 Pickersgill’s
Barleydale Lulu With Maolruadhan. Rangy b with a lovely flowing outline, pretty
head, good bone and substance. Deep well made body with pleasing hindquarters,
moved well in lovely condition; 3 Williamson’s Bluesprings Skylark JW.
LB (16). Interesting class with some lovely b’s missing out due to movement. 1
Williamson’s Caskeys Vermillion at Bluesprings. Up to size but presents a
pleasing overall outline and type. Well constructed deep balanced body with good
quarters and angulation, sound positive mover; 2 Smith’s Reddins Bobbin JW.
Lovely b full of quality, from her pretty head, balanced well made body and good
hindquarters, moved soundly but lacked confidence which cost her the class; 3
Morris’ Brinara Backseat Driver.
OB (13). Lovely class with some quality b’s going cardless. 1 Ritchie’s Sh Ch
and Ir Sh Ch Gwendariff Pop My Cork. Lovely b full of quality and type, feminine
head, well constructed mature body, with good angulation fore and aft. The
soundest mover covering the ground with ease and drive, won her the Cc and BOB
on the referee’s Decision, shown in immaculate coat and condition, was pleased
to see her take G4; 2 Smith’s Reddins Quiz. Another quality b, again of lovely
type and construction, soundest of mover, presents a balanced outline; 3
Townsend’s Sh CH Follidown Red Hot Poker JW.
VB (4). 1 King’s Sh Ch Kirkavagh Kooyonga. Well known worthy champion b who
still retains her many qualities and attributes, feminine with substance and
style. Still moving soundly with precision and drive. Pleased to award her the
RCC; 2 Powis Sh Ch Amberwave Dazzle JW. Another b of quality and style who has
also retained her lovely outline and shape. Sound mover in lovely coat and
condition; 3 Budd’s Kesakasy Sea Anemone.
