Midland Counties
Many thanks to all sporting exhibitors for their entries and
for a most enjoyable day. Thank you also to my two able
stewards who contributed most efficiently to the smooth
running of each class. I was extremely pleased with all my
placing, although again, there were the usual ‘gripes’.
Untypical, plain heads with bold eye and lacking in
expression, narrow fronts devoid of sternum, incorrect
dentition and some quite alarming movement. However, there
were many quality exhibits and it was most reasurring to see
so many beautiful Minor Puppy bitches, sadly many of whom
many had to go cardless - I felt it was the most overall
quality class of the day.
MPD. (13). 1. Burke’s, Clachnahor Ami Pierrot. Quality
youngster exhibiting lovely balance throughout. Well moulded
skull and finish to foreface. Soft dark eye. Arched neck
smoothly flowing into well laid back shoulders. Excellent
topline and tailset. Good spring of rib and depth to
brisket. Stood squarely on lovely bone and feet. Rich
shining coat. Strong quarters used soundly and positively on
the move. Most appealing young man. BP. 2. Hyslop’s,
Summergate Chozan. Another handsome boy with appealing head,
dark kind eye and correct low set ears. Good reach of neck,
depth of brisket and well angulated shoulder and length of
upper arm. Good tightly padded feet. Just preferred topline
and strength of upper arm. Good tightly padded feet. 3.
Bott’s, Bardonhill Storm Moon.
PD. (12). 1. Burke’s, Clachnahor Ami Pierrot. 2. Edwards’,
Jenaleas Tuscany. Pleasing head and earset, well shaped
gentle eye. Nicely angulated both fore and aft. Well
presented in gleaming coat and condition. Covered the ground
well on the move. 3. Bott’s, Bardonhill Storm Moon.
JD. (17). 1. Ciechonska’s, Caskeys Concept at Aoibheanne.
Outstanding youngster. Just my type. Ruggedly handsome and
just oozes quality. Refined well proportioned head with
endearingly soft expressive eye. Excellent body properties
from his strong arched neck, beautifully angulated shoulder
and upper arm, through gently sloping topline to wide,
muscular quarters. True front and ample spring of rib. Moved
with exuberance and style Just a little more time and I am
sure he will take top honours, but most pleased to award him
ResCC on the day. 2. Walsh’s, Janter Moon Magician of
Millcroft. Different type to winner, much yet to come. Needs
to finish over croup and to ‘track up’ better on the move,
but pleasing in many departments. Masculine head with
correct finish to muzzle and with kindly expression.
Presented in good bloom and well handled. 3. Roberts’,
Cairacailie Roco.
YD. (9). 1. Stockton’s, Kespas Infrared. Handsome head and
attractive outline throughout. Straight front with plenty of
depth to chest and well ribbed up. Gently sloping topline
and correct tailset. Standing over strong quarters, well let
down hocks and neat feet. Moved and handled to advantage. 2.
Kenny’s, Burrenmist Hot Toddy. Unplaced in previous class.
Well balanced head, good depth and spring of rib. A little
shallow over loin which lost him the strength over quarters
on the move. Presented and handled well. 3. Murray and
Robert’s, Colanme Wizard of Oz.
GD. (13). 1. Armstrong’s, Atron Limited Edition. Refined
head, lovely dark eye full of wicked charm, which he exudes
throughout. He really tests his handler’s fortitude to the
full. Great body properties, rugged and masculine with
beautiful angulation both fore and aft. Ample forechest,
generous heart and lung room and well ribbed back. Super
bone and strength over topline and quarters. Moved with
spirit and exhubernace. 2. Hillocks’, Spirit of the South to
Jonola. Similar in type and soundly constructed throughout.
Rangey and handsome with lovely head and expression, well
constructed throughout. Presented in hard condition and
gleaming coat. Preferred topline and hind movement of
winner, but nevertheless much to like about this boy. 3.
Murray and Roberts’, Colanme Wizard of Oz.
PGD. (19). 1. Fauvrelle’s, Shaytell Andante. Have judged
this boy well previously and he did not disappoint on the
day. Maturing well and exhibits a strong, masculine aspect.
Well moulded skull with no coarseness in any way and
expressive gentle eye. Excellent angulation in all
departments, beautiful topline and tailset. Over wide
muscular quarters. Moved with animation and style. 2.
Muir’s, Grayrigge Ewan by Romarne. Very impressive. Lovely
balanced head and soft expression. Correct topline and
tailset with sweeping, strong quarters. Good depth to
sternum, ample spring of rib. Presented in immaculate coat
and condition as always from this exhibitor. Moved soundly,
using his tail well. 3. Lorrimer’s, Danaway Destiny.
LD. (18). 1. Mugford’s, Scotselaw Jackson at Lynwood. My
star of the day! I have long been impressed with this boy
and it was a pleasure to award him CC and BOB on the day. He
is a gorgeous example of the breed and completely fills the
eye. Most classical head with quizzical, gentle expression
and lovely finish to foreface. Strong arched neck, flowing
into sloping shoulder and upper arm. Great sternum and
spring of rib, so lacking in many exhibits at the moment.
His topline flows gently to his well finished croup and wide
rugged quarters. Well let down hocks and deeply padded feet
completed an exciting overall picture. The whole
complemented by strong enthusiastic movement. 2. Hogsflesh’s,
Lyngor Prophet. Such a sound, honest dog with nothing to
hide. Masculine head with kindly expressive eye. Ample bone
and substance. Good sternum, well ribbed back to strong loin
and quarters. One of my best movers of the day, driving
strong and true. 3. Lewis’s, Lynwood Pioneer of Seadog.
OD. (8). 1. Lorrimer’s, Sh Ch. Karidell Connoisseur. Well
known dog exhibiting lovely qualities. Beautifully presented
and handled as always by this owner. Classical head with
lovely eloquent eye. Arched neck fitting smoothly into well
angulated shoulders. True front with good depth of brisket.
Standing on well boned limbs and neat tight feet. Gently
sloping topline. Well let down hocks and strong quarters
which contributed to his keen, sound movement. 2. Abbott’s,
Milligan and Bott’s, Sh Ch. Baibreeze Bi Thendara. Another
worthy Show Champion with all the breed attributes. Handsome
head with correct stop and nicely moulded skull and muzzle.
True straight front and ample spring of rib. Good strength
over loin and quarters. Presented in lovely condition and
handled well. Moved soundly and with verve. 3. Wicks’, Sh
Ch. Popeswood Pie in the Sky at Birguma.
MPB. (20). 1. Ellis’s, Brayville Love Affair. What a little
sweetheart! Exquisite head with lovely raised brows
revealing gentle eye and quizzical expression. Excellent
angulation throughout. Lovely bone and feet. Good spring of
rib. Plenty of strength over loin and quarters. Presented in
gleaming coat and sympathetically handled. Covered the
ground in happy and exuberant style. A lovely win in this
really beautiful class of babies. 2. Spence’s, Follidown
Windflower at Springle. Pleasing feminine head with gentle
expression. Nicely balanced throughout. Lovely depth to
chest and good spring of rib. Strong topline held well in
her sound steady movement. 3. Roberts’, Polmennor Priceless.
PB. (8). 1. Wilkins’, Margaretwoods Kitty Cat. Although
unplaced in previous very strong class, this is another
lovely puppy who excelled in type and quality. Feminine
head, good shoulder and upper arm placement, wide, strong
quarters and pronounced sternum. In lovely bloom, moving
with cheerful enthusiasm. 2. Botts’, Bardonhill Snow Moon.
Bigger puppy and very mature. Balanced skull and foreface
with kindly expression. Correct low earset. Good body
properties. Just preferred the quarters and overall balance
of winner. Presented in rich dark coat. Moved quite well. 3.
Dickson’s, Clarix Atlanta.
JB. (14). 1. Pollard’s, Grayrigge Maeve. A well known
quality duo first and second on the day, both possessing
excellent body properties and maturing well from puppyhood.
Both presenting beautiful feminine heads with melting
expression and correct finish to muzzle. Just preferred the
topline and overall finish and bloom over her sister on the
day and her positive flowing movement completed a lovely
picture. 2. Pollard’s, Grayrigge Mairona. 3. Evans’,
Goldings Pansy.
YB. (16). 1. Pollard’s, Grayrigge Maeve. 2. Nevitt’s,
Romarne Jessica. Lovely, typy bitch with appealing head and
kind expressive eye. Good angulation both fore and aft.
Straight front and lovely depth to brisket. Gentle sloping
topine to well muscled quarters. Movement sound, but
somewhat lacking in animation on the day. 3. Sheldon and
Muir’s, Romarne Jasmine at Delsanto.
GB. (17). 1. Hillock’s, Jonola Liberty X. Eyecatching bitch
with beautiful head and presenting an elegant, balanced
outline. Excellent topline and tailset. Good front assembly,
well ribbed up, strong over loin and standing squarely on
good bone and well padded feet. In lovely bloom. Topline
held well in her stylish and animated movement. 2. Hall’s,
Glennara Klipspringer. Different, more rugged type but again
a sound well presented lady. Correct body properties and
lovely angulation. Nicely moulded skull with dark soft eye.
Ample bone and substance. Just preferred topline and
movement of winner. 3. Harris’s, Goldings Helleana of
Trapwell.
PGB. (16). 1. Pickersgill’s, Barleydale Lulu with
Maolruadhan. Racy, elegant outline. Totally feminine yet
with ample bone and substance and presented in rich lustrous
coat and hard condition. Beautifully balanced head,
displaying soft quizzical expression. Pronounced sternum,
well sprung ribs and excellent topline and tailset. Strong
quarters, well let down hocks which allowed her to move with
drive and vivacity. Impeccably handled throughout, was
pleased to award her RCC. 2. Loynd’s, Kirkavagh Sinola at
Crimbledale. This bitch has improved tremendously over the
past 12 months, and is now more at one with her handler.
Lovely racy outline. Well balanced with keen soft
expression. Well laid shoulders, true front and good spring
of rib. Spirited but sound movement. 3. Muir’s, Romarne
Melinda.
LB. (13). 1. Hunter and Brown’s, Braidmount Geisha Girl.
Charming bitch presenting a beautiful, classical outline.
Prettuest of heads and sweet expressive eye. Best of
shoulders and firmness over loin and quarters. Presented and
handled to perfection. Her flawless, driving movement earned
her a well deserved CC. 2. Evans’s, Goldings Silver
Sixpence. Well balanded head with kindly eye. Nicely
angulated all through with strong hard muscled quarters and
good second thigh. First class presentation. An honest,
sound moving bitch with good forward reach and using her
tail well. 3. Milligan-Bott and Bott’s, Lunaline Lady
Madonna by Thedara.
OB. (7). 1. Mugford’s, Lynwood Promises Promises to Gimaroch.
I have always loved this bitch and although she was a little
lacking in furnishings on the day, her placing could not be
denied. She is so absolutely feminine throughout with a
charming head and expression. Beautifully put totether in
all departments and compliments all with her sound stylish
movement. 2. Muir’s, Sh Ch. Romarne Melissa. Beautifully
exhibited as always. This bitch presents a lovely outline
both standing and in her stylish movement, covering the
ground well and using her tail to advantage. Just preferred
the femininity and overall balance of winner, but
nevertheless much to admire. 3. Powis’s, Sh Ch. Amberwave
Spangle.
