Thank you for a nice quality entry. Movement still leaves a lot to be desired. A seminar of grooming, trimming and presentation would not go amiss.

MPD (9,1) Movement in this class was very disappointing. 1 Trueman’s Bardonhill Moonshine. Promising puppy with a nice head and expression. Quite compact for his age. Best mover in the class. 2 Whittington’s Margaretswood Copy Cat. Another nice young dog but, like the resr of the class, I found it difficult to assess his movement. 3 Goodacre’s Satlas Bleau Stratos.

PD (10,2) 1 Abbey’s Haresach Emerald Prince. Nice young dog with a good head and dark eye. Good reach of neck, nice outline and well boned. Moved freely. Handler needs to practice getting the best out of him. 2 Sketchley’s Kerrimere Dakar. Very similar in type to the winner, just preferred the head of 1. Very close decision. 3 Randhawas’ Mantafield Going for Gold.

JD (11,2) 1 Burton’s Redhara in the Red. A quality class but this young dog stood out. Good head and reach of neck. Well placed shoulders with correct outline and angulation. Moved well - one for the future. 2 Corrigan’s Maranbathic Zeus. A good young dog who was unlucky to meet the winner on the day, but nevertheless, very nice. Moved soundly and was well handled. 3 Harris’ Teramour Troubador of Trapwell.

YD (8,1) 1 Roddas’ Coverney Conquistador at Teramour. Upstanding young dog, well bodied. Good head and dark eyes. Nice reach of neck, good front and rear angulation. Good typy Setter. Moved really well. 2 Swainston’s Glenvarna Sungod. Good head, nice reach of neck. Correct in all aspects. Sound mover.

PGD (21,5) A quality class. Ross’s Autumglow Zephyr. Nice typical head. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders. Good front and rear, nice flat coat in good condition. Moved well and was well handled. 2 Muir’s Grayrigge Ewan by Romarne. Lovely dark coated dog. Good head and expression. Good outline, moved well and superbly handled. 3 Spence’s Springle Hereus.

LD (19,3) 1 Schofield and Morgan’s Cataluna by George. Good sized masculine Irish who took my eye when he entered the ring. Lovely head with soft expression in his dark eyes. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Correct topline, good front and rear angulation. Good stifles. Very good outline. Well muscled, very good mover. Was really close up in the challenge. Res CC. 2 Myer’s Astrarone Special Brew. Not the same type as the winner but another good one. Good head with everything in the right place. Moved well. 3 Davies’ Lunaline Sergeant Pepper.

OD (8,2) 1 Holley’s Sh Ch Danaway Discreet JW. Lovely quality dog with charisma. Lovely head and reach of neck with well laid shoulders. Beautiful outline, in very good condition. Well boned and with good feet. Very steady mover. Nothing ‘discreet’ about this boy, he really struts his stuff! Shown in excellent condition, I was pleased to award him the CC. 2 Kniveton’s Shandwick Diamond at Orstone. Another good Irish Setter with a lot of the same qualities as the winner and with lots to like. Good mover. 3 Harris’ Teramour Call Me Lucky of Trapwell.

MPB (12,1) Movement was better in this class than the MPD class. 1 Wilkins’ Margaretswood Kitty Cat. Pretty young puppy with lots of potential. Promising head and outline. Moved well to win this class. 2 Sheldon’s Delsanto Maisie. A good young puppy, a little heavier than the winner but this did not detract from her good movement. 3 Cowell and Stuart-Cook’s Dawnglo Tinkerbell.

PB (5,1) 1 Harris’ Mantafield Almost An Angel. An aptly named bitch with a lot to like. She is very elegant, even at this age. Good head, nice reach of neck. Promising outline. Good conformation and moved really well. 2 Lennox’ Hartsbourne Hyacynth. This kennel has produced some quality stock over many years and I was not disappointed with this young bitch. A lot to like about her. Moved well. 3. Cowell and Stuart-Cooks’, Dawnglo Cinderella.

JB. (6). 1. Morgans’, Kerrsienna a Paige in History for Deaconara. RCC. In this class I found a number of bitches of similar type, any one of which could have won. I had to ‘nit pick’ to separate them. The first three will change places many times and my report covers all of them. Lovely heads and expressions. Good outlines and conformation. All moved well which bodes well for the future. 2. Pollards’, Grayrigge Maeve. 3. Pollards’, Grayrigge Mairona.

YB. (8). Again in this class I found similar types of bitches. 1. Ritchies’, Gwendariff Ms Dynamite. A lovely bitch with a good head, dark eyes and a lovely outline. Moved really well. I see her dam is my ticket winner and she is following in her dam’s footsteps. 2. Nevitts’, Romarne Jessica JW. Another very nice bitch with everything in the right places. Moved well. A close decision. 3. Morrison’s, Laurieston Showdrop.

PGB. (15). 1. Davies and Hurds’, Lunaline Love me Do. A really typy bitch with a lovely head. Good front and rear. Good conformation. Very neat feet. Moved well. 2. Birchs’, Moyna Peach Blossom. Very nice bitch all through, just short on furnishings. Moved well. 3. Butler-Hollwys’, Shandwick Maggie May.

LB. (14). 1. Shepherd’s, Casachared Rosie O’Donegal. Lovely elegant bitch with good head and dark eyes. Good topline, front and rear end completed a nice picture. Moved well. 2. Harris’s, Mantafield Kerrys a Cracker. Good quality bitch with all the virtues of the winner. Just beaten by the elegance of winner. Moved well. 3. Rance and Oakley’s, Caspians Modesty.

OB. (6). 1. Ritchies’, Sh Ch. Gwendariff Pop my Cork. My star of the day. Had everything I was looking for, type, conformation and charisma. My type of Irish Setter with all her virtues. She moved superbly round the ring. I was pleased to award her with the CC and BOB. 2. Muirs’, Sh Ch. Romarne Melissa. A taller bitch and similar in type and conformation. Good head, reach of neck and conformation. Superbly presented and handled. Another good mover. 3. Lennoxs’s, Brackenfield Camilla.
