Bitches - Judge Mrs C Sheldon

It was a pleasure to judge the bitches at this prestigious Club Show. It seemed to run like clockwork but this is only through the efforts of the hardworking committee – very well done. I thank the exhibitors very much for their entry, which was numerically strong and gave me a super opportunity to judge our bitches of today. I found a couple of unacceptable mouths – level and overshot. In general, presentation was good with the odd exception where I found knots and poor trimming. I never understand this with the cost of entries- presentation and handling are things we can do something about – poor conformation, we can’t! I was very pleased with all my winners, which were a type I like. I also know however there were plenty of other unplaced good exhibits who will certainly have their day – that’s what dog showing is all about!

Douthewaite & Wharfes Gracewood True Magic

Nice to see such a confident baby, in lovely condition, gleaming coat with good feathering. Pretty girl with deep chest, good front, nicely proportioned body with good bend of stifle. Happy steady mover.

2nd

Gurneys Danaway Isadora

Not so mature as 1, rangier and not quite as steady. Very typy with beautiful head, most appealing with lovely dark eyes of good shape. Nice reach of neck and good body properties. Super dark textured coat . Moved OK taking age into account

Rutherfords Clonageera Romantic Scene

Elegant bitch, nice deep chest, well angulated shoulders into good front. Very pretty. Well balanced body, everything in the right place. Seemed a little in awe of the venue at first but soon overcame this and moved round the ring with lashing tail. BPIS

2nd

Lucas’s Harreds Jessica By Amberlight

Similar shape to 1. Lovely overall balance, nice feminine head with kind eye.

Not in such good coat condition. Steady mover.

Limpus’s Sh Ch Shenangin That's It To Karidell

A lovely champion who has had a great career. Still looking well, moved with verve and was certainly a contender for top honours.

2nd

Sh Ch Laggan Shoshoni Maiden

This mature lady is another not looking her age. Well known, and for me, she has always had the virtues of a true honest bitch. Not glamorous but so sound. She still portrays these characteristics and just lost out to a more showy bitch today.

Elegant young lady, good front, deep chest, tight feet, no exaggeration at all, looked very well balanced standing & moved OK. Pretty head with good expression and kind eyes.

2nd

Smiths Reddins Bobbin

Very similar to 1. First class bitch with very good body properties and classic head. Today, I just preferred the slightly tighter front on my winner.

Hunter and Browns Braidmount Gaeisha Girl

Lovely type bitch. Good overall balance, dark texture gleaming coat, very feminine but with substance, a quality I like to see. Superb depth to chest, good shoulders and topline, nice bend of stifle, good tailset. Moved soundly. At times not co-operative with her handler but the best was definitely coaxed out of her!  RCC

2nd

Mugfords Gimaroch On A Promise

Very feminine, nice head shape, low set ears and lovely eyes. Lots to like about her, well balanced body properties but not as mature or coated as one.

Another nicely made bitch but not as mature as 1 and lacking coat and condition. Still lots to like, her overall soundness could not be overlooked finished off with a very appealing head. Steady mover

Dark coated, typy bitch, super deep chest, good front and topline which she held on the move.

Very nice head, good shape and finish, lovely reach of neck into well laid balanced shoulders. Still think she has more maturing to do but she gave her all on the move, full of drive and verve, pleased to award her the CC & BIS

2nd

Fauvrelles Goldings Mauvorneen

Slightly bigger bitch with all the body properties I like. Certainly very feminine and looked very balanced when standing, moved steadily.

All of the bitches in this class were very different. My winner won on her lovely type, very refined, super head, good reach of neck, good shoulders, like her length of body and stifle. Not in top class condition today and was not that interested on the move.

2nd

Roddas Sh Ch Covarney Mia Mine At Teramour
Again, looked a picture standing with good body properties. However, just carrying a few extra pounds today and again would have preferred more positive hind movement.
