Boston Championship Show 2008

Firstly I would like to thank you all for making so much effort to prepare and present your bitches for the show today. I was very impressed with the high standard of entries. My only disappointment was the number of bitches lacking a feminine head and expression. On several occasions I found well constructed bitches that lacked the finishing touch of a kind, intelligent expression. However, I was extremely pleased with my winners and due to the high level of quality; several bitches had to go card less on this occasion. There were some very close decisions which were really ‘hair splitting’ and I found some very promising youngsters which can only be good for our breed.

1st SHAYTELL JOLEENE (MR & MRS R D ROUT) Very pretty young lady. Lovely dark eye giving gentle expression. Good angulation front and rear, nice deep chest, correct topline. Moved soundly. Will watch her progress with interest. Best puppy bitch

1st GLENNARA LEHANA (MRS K A HALL) Have admired this young lady from the ringside. Mature for her age. Well made all through. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, following through to a gently sloping topline. Good spring of rib, well arched toes giving good shape to feet. Moved well.

2nd TIROEN TAKE MY BREATH AWAY (MRS R E COX) Pretty, dark coated bitch. Well constructed with correct angulation front and rear. Lovely tight feet. Moved soundly.

1st BRINARA WINTER CHERRY (MRS B & MRS L BERRY &MORRIS) Feminine bitch who is maturing nicely. Not overdone in any department. Presents a lovely picture both standing and on the move. Well balanced with nice deep chest and plenty of forechest. Moved with drive using her tail to full advantage. Presented in excellent coat and condition.

2nd BRABROOK CONNEMARA (MISS M & MR J SMITH & PARKER) Shorter coupled bitch with dark coat. Low set ears, good reach of neck. Strong hindquarters, well off for bone.

1st ROMARNE HAYLEY JW (MRS L MUIR) Liked this bitch the moment I saw her. Classic outline, well balanced with nothing exaggerated. Good clean neck and shoulders, good depth of chest. Well angulated, strong hindquarters giving her plenty of drive on the move. Presented in excellent coat and condition.

2nd ROMARNE ANNABEL JW (MRS L MUIR) Loved this girl’s head and expression. Again very well made and moved superbly, just lacked the maturity and finish of 1.

1st BARDONHILL CUTIE (MRS M BOTT) Striking bitch with beautiful head. Low set ears against her clean neck leading down to good lay of shoulder. Good spring of rib. Moved soundly using her tail to full effect.

2nd TATTERSLEE BON AFFECTUEUX AVEC MONTEREENAN (MR J, MRS L & MISS L H RICHARDSON) Nice bitch, not quite as mature as 1,but much to admire. Good angulation throughout giving balanced outline.

1st JONOLA LIBERTY X JW (MRS I M HILLOCKS) Well proportioned bitch with lovely head shape and soft expression. Plenty of forechest and good upper arm angulation. Excellent hindquarters. A picture both standing and on the move.

2nd MARGRETWOODS KITTY CAT JW (MRS J WILKINS) Have admired this young lady before. A real character who demonstrates admirably the affectionate, fun loving temperament of our breed. Classic in outline, oozing quality. So well made in every department. I’m sure higher honours are not far away, she just needs that edge of maturity to finish her off.

1st BRINARA BACKSEAT DRIVER (MRS B & MRS L BERRY & MORRIS) This bitch caught my eye immediately as I looked around the ring. Beautiful head with soft, melting expression. Lovely finish to foreface, low set ears. Good reach of neck with just the right amount of arching. Excellent angulation both front and rear with particularly good upper arm angulation giving her the excellent reach she showed when on the move. Deep chested with plenty of forechest. Correct topline and tailset. Well off for bone. Presented in fabulous condition. Her movement was elegant, effortless and free flowing and her tail wagged continuously throughout. Pleased to award her the C.C.

2nd COVARNEY WALTZING MATILDA (MR D MITCHELL) Another really nice bitch. Clean over the neck and shoulders, well constructed throughout. Slightly shorter coupled than 1. Moved soundly .

1st SH CH AMBERWAVE SPANGLE JW (MR & MRS J P POWIS) This beautiful bitch has so much to admire; classic in outline, lovely head shape, soft feminine expression, good angulation of the shoulders and hindquarters, good depth of chest, tight feet with well arched toes, in lovely coat and moved effortlessly around the ring. Reserve C.C.

2nd SH CH ROMARNE MELISSA JW (MRS L MUIR) Another fabulous, well known bitch who is so well constructed. Solid girl with plenty of body. Strong bones, a good honest bitch. Good reach of neck, correct lay of shoulder leading into gently sloping topline. Deep chested, good width to thigh. Moved freely and soundly. Presented, as always in tip top condition.
