Tuesday 24th
February
I'm still
suffering from a poorly eye. I'm really fed up with it now.
Every morning I have nasty, bitter tablets put down my
throat, then some horrible wet stuff dripped into my eye,
then cream rubbed around it. I've managed to off load that
stupid big collar at my brother's house for the
moment, so at least I haven't got the humiliation of Morse
laughing at me all the time.
On a brighter note, I spent last weekend with my brother
Chester. I love going there as I'm allowed to get on the
sofa to watch television (providing I don't chase the
rabbit), and we get things like best steak and chicken for
our tea. It's like being in a posh hotel and I wasn't
altogether sure I wanted to come home. Once I saw
Cheryl's car coming to fetch us though I felt a bit homesick
and wanted to be back with my own family again. It was nice
to spend some time with little Georgie. She and I have
become good friends and I enjoy playing with her whilst the
boys ignore us and play together. Morse likes bossing
Chester around, but they're really good friends and anyway,
Chester is as big a Morse now. Mummy didn't come with
us this time, she stayed somewhere else, but she was already
home when we got back.
I think Mummy and Morse will be going to a show this weekend
as they are having hair cuts and I think I heard a mention
of baths too. As I haven't had my feet or ears done, I
assume that I won't be going just yet because of my eye.
I hope it will soon be better, this being poorly is no fun
at all.
The boys have been talking about their holiday in this
'Disney' place and they are both wearing strange hats.
Nick has a furry one with a stripy tail on and George has a
sort of cowboy hat. It seems they had a really good
time although the weather was cold and Nick was sick on the
ferry going over. Yuk! I'm not sure I needed to know
that. I think he must have been okay coming back as he
said he had 2 meals! Georgie was boasting about going on
something called an 'Indiana Jones ride', I can't
imagine what that was. They also seem to have taken
lots of photos as they have spent ages on the computer
messing around.
Well, I suppose it will soon be time for tea. Back to
ordinary food for dogs now, although I think I may have
spotted some meat which looks suspiciously like it might be
for us.
Wednesday 11th
February
I'm not
impressed! I had to go back to that vet again on
Monday. I now know for certain she doesn't like me as she
stuck another needle in me and she pulled hair out of my
face, then she scraped some skin off! Ouch!!
My eye is still all puffy and to make matters worse I now
have to wear a huge great big collar round my neck. I
don't like it at all. I look like something from outer
space. I can't have a proper scratch, I can't even get
out of the door without banging into it. It
makes me feel all hot. It's really embarrassing, every
time Morse sees me he laughs. You wait til he has one,
then I'll get my own back. If that wasn't enough, I
also have loads of tablet to take and some horrible wet
things that get put in my eye. I'll be really glad
when my eye gets better, this is awful. My other
brother, Chester will be coming in a few days, I bet he'll
laugh at me too.
Oh how I long to get back to playing with my friends and
digging that hole again!
Saturday 7th
February
I'm still a
poorly little girl. I had to go and see the vet last
week and she stuck a big needle in my neck twice! Then she
gave me some horrible pink tablets to take. My eye
started to feel a bit better but then it all swelled up
again so I had to go back to the vet again. I don't
think she likes me very much because every time I see her
she sticks a needle in me. I've now got some blue and
white tablets to take and some horrible cream that gets
rubbed around my eye at bedtime. I hope I don't have
to go back again as I don't want any more needles, they
hurt.
I'm not the only one in the family with a sore face though.
Cheryl was doing something in the kitchen this morning and a
can fell out of the cupboard and hit her in the face.
She said it was lucky it didn't get one of the boys or Morse
but she's got a bit of a lump now and it was bleeding for a
while.
It will soon be time for Chester and his baby to come and
stay for a few days. I haven't met baby Georgie yet,
but it'll be fun to have someone new to play with.
I think we're going to stay at their house again soon
because I heard the boys saying they were going somewhere
called 'Disney'. I don't know what that is but it
sounds exciting from the way they spoke about it.
I don't suppose I'll be going to any shows for a while with
my eye like this but I think Mummy and Morse will be doing
one soon. I think Crufts must be quite soon too as
George said I had to be a really good girl when I go there
because I'll be showing this time. But that was
before my eye got poorly, so I don't know if I'll be able to
go now. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see.
I hope my eye will get better soon, it's no fun being stuck
at home, and I don't get to see any of my friends.
Monday 26th
January
I've been a
poorly little girl this week. I rubbed my face against
something in the little field and my eye has swollen up.
It itches a bit and it doesn't look very nice so I wasn't
able to go in the show yesterday. I went along for the
ride but stayed in the car until we all went for a run at
the end. I was feeling a bit sorry for myself, but
when we had our run we were able to watch those funny planes
that don't make a noise and then I played chase with Mummy
and Morse which made me feel a bit better. They both
did well in the show as they both got blues. I
think I am going to a show this weekend if my eye is better.
That means I'll be having a bath and I'll get a go under the
warm blowy thing. (I like that.)
Now Nicky is a poorly boy as he keeps coughing. Morse
has been in looking after him with Cheryl today. He
says he keeps giving him cuddles to make him feel better.
Perhaps I'll be able to go in and see him later.
Morse said he went for a long walk the other day and they
explored a new place with a little river and lots of birds.
I think I'd like to see this place, it sounds like fun to
me. Especially if there are lots of birds.
Wednesday
14th January
There
were some terrible winds the other night (and it wasn't me
making them!) The trellis blew down in the garden so
we've been able to explore the 'summer' area where we're not
normally allowed. I jumped up to have a look at the
bird table and found all sorts of goodies which I quickly
ate before anyone could catch me. Then I had a good
sniff round to see if anyone has been there who shouldn't
have been, like that big ginger cat who lives a couple of
houses away. Eventually I got bored with that game and
went back into the little field as I thought I should do
some more work on my hole. Would you believe it, I
couldn't find it! I think some sneaky person has
filled it in. However the boys and Cheryl have been
digging over quite a big area, something to do with a shed
apparently, so I've started helping them by digging a new
hole just there.
This morning I was not impressed. I was playing in the
little field at breakfast time and didn't hear Cheryl
putting the food out. By the time I got back
Morse had finished all his breakfast and was eating mine
too. What a pig! I really told him off but he
said I should've been there and then he wouldn't have eaten
it. I was hungry too, so I wasn't pleased.
Fortunately Cheryl came out to see what we were arguing
about and when she realised what had happened she gave me
some more breakfast and took Morse inside so he couldn't
steal it again. The nerve of that dog, honestly.
