I try, time and other things permitting, to compose a poem shortly after each game involving "THE BORO."

I propose to have all of my poems on one page with a link, IE - BORO v HARTLEPOOL - to take you direct to whatever it is that interests you.

The most recent will be at the top of the page then the others will follow in datal order.
I shall also endeavour to have them on line within 24 hours of the end of the game in question.

AYRESOME PARK - 1903 - 1995

THE CELLNET RIVERSIDE STADIUM - OPENED 1995

Ayresome Park (above left) is where my interest in "THE BORO" first began about 1946. I used to cycle a round trip of over 50 miles, from my then home in Ferryhill, Co. Durham, and never missed a game for many years. It was because of my love of "THE BORO" that I came to live and work in Middlesbrough, and I have remained here ever since.

My favourite days were in the times of Mannion, Hardwick, etc., followed by the likes of Clough, Peacock, Ugolini, and all of the others of that era.

Unfortunately, I have never managed to visit the new stadium which appears to me to be "Out of this world."

Perhaps, one day .......
