Welcome to Shepshed Speaker's club . The club has approximately 18 members, coming from all walks of life .
New members are always made welcome, and we meet on the second and forth Thursday of the month at Thringstone Methodist Church Hall. Members travel from various surrounding villages, Thringstone, Ibstock , Glenfield and of course Shepshed.
As well as being educational in the art of speaking , we also have many social events .
Come along one evening as a guest, just to see what's going on.

Twenty six members and guests attended the annual Ladies Evening at Loughborough University on Wednesday 17th June 2009 Guests included Eric Baker who proposed the Toast to Shepshed Speakers Club which was responded to by Andy Holland the then President of Shepshed S.C. Stephen Clarke proposed the Toast to Ladies & Guests which in turn was responded to by Mrs Mary Briggs. Andy Holland then relinquished the chain of office and inducted the incoming President - Stephen Clarke. Andy's last duty as President was to award the Gibbons Trophy to Ian Briggs. As usual the food was excellent, the entertainment enlightening and the company most enjoyable. |
