Performances
Our Clown and Puppet performances use Bible
Stories and principles as their base. Our individual
skits range from highly energetic to slow and
sensitive. We like to include humour and meaningful
points to produce a fun filled performance with real
meaning. Each of our Clowns has their own personality
and each performance tends to be unique, even when
performing the same selection of Clown skits. The
same is true of the Ventriloquists friends. Our
Clowns and ventriloquists friends each have their own
unique character, so no one is ever quite sure what
will happen next (sometimes not even the
ventriloquist knows what his friend will say next).
The only sure thing is that fun will be had by all
and people will leave feeling better than they
arrived!
Our theatre puppets however are more predictable.
The theatre characters are like actors on a smaller
stage. We can provide a set of otherwise unconnected
skits to follow a theme or a series of skits based on
the same characters. One set which makes a great
example is based on a family with each of the family
members interacting with each other soap opera style
(without the nasty stuff). The focus is on the two
children who are working through life and searching
for answers to life's issues. these skits can be
combined to follow a theme or be used in their own
right and each skit has it's own theme tune. Another
set which is great for stand alone skits or working
with clowns are the 'George of the Jungle' skits.
These skits are about George (Tarzan style King of
the Jungle) and his animal friends. Their antics
provide hilarious fun with a subtle point which we
accept before we realise that we are actually
laughing at ourselves!
Costs
We do not charge for our performances. However we
do expect or travel costs and expenses to be met and
are open to receiving donations.
Travel Costs are worked out at 30p per mile
for petrol and wear and tear and expenses
cover food and accommodation. We do not require
expensive Hotels. Often we sleep in halls or use
Youth hostels. We do however refuse to accept mixed
sex sleeping arrangements (except for married couples)
should accommodation be offered by you or your
organisation.
Custom Theme
If the theme you want for our performance is not
available, we can create for you a completely new
selection of skits to fit your theme. In order to
achieve this we do require at least three months
notice. This is because we will need time to write
the skits, find and edit backing tracks, while
finding time to rehearse the new material. we can
create new skits to make up the theme for your
performance. All copyright and performance rights
will remain ours. We will hold the material for one
calendar month from the date of the first performance
for you to purchase it as Custom Material or Stock
Material. If you have not purchased it as Custom
Material by then it will be added to the Stock
Material.
Custom Material
This will allow you or your group to perform all
the skits in your theme and we give you a copy of
them including backing sounds on a PC readable CD.
The sound files will be in .WAV format for computer
editing and playback and audio format so they can
also be played on a standard CD player. The Copyright
and performance rights will remain ours although we
will not allow any other group (except ourselves) to
perform any of the material (except any skit we have
included from stock) for a period of 1 year from the
date of issue (our performances will be strictly
limited to our local network of Salisbury Churches).
At the end of the year the Material will be added to
Stock Material. Your permission to perform the
material as Stock Material will last 5 years from the
date of issue. The cost of Custom Material is £50. (NB
you get performance permission for 5 years in total).
Stock Material
Generally we have a selection of pre-prepared
skits which follow set themes. If we already have
your theme available the right for you to perform it
can be purchased for £15 including the CD. This will
last for a period of 1year from date of issue. Our
next project will be creating a downloadable version
of each set with scripts the cost of download will
include performance permission.
Purchasing Copyright and performance
rights for Custom Material.
If you wish to purchase the Copyright and
performance rights for your material then the charge
will be £500 and you will need to inform us in
writing when you request the material. Your £500
will cover all rights to the script and performance.
No sound files will be part of the rights, although
permission for you to use them will be. Copyrights
and performance rights will not be transferred to you
until payment has been cleared by our bank. Written
notification will be sent by us to confirm the
transference of Copyright and performance rights.
