SKILLS

Project Management

Geoffrey has a wide variety of project management experience and is able to transfer skills effectively. One of his more recent projects had him leading a small team of people to purchase and deliver children's books for a children’s camp based near Warsaw. This encompassed the full project life cycle, had a £6000 budget and a 3 week life span. It was achieved on time and within budget. Other projects include writing various websites which required research, planning and change control skills to implement.

While working for Koinonia (Salisbury), Geoffrey ran a due diligence/feasibility study into purchasing a local building (£200,000) and developing it into a café and ministry centre. Researched and developed a drugs and alcohol information website. Developed and ran small work projects designed to help unemployed  people return to work. Planned a care programme through which Koinonia (Salisbury) could operate effectively.

Another feasibility Study was produced on behalf of Lightforce International. This organisation had a base in northern Albania. Geoffrey’s task was to investigate the business case for creating a small Chicken Farm (400 birds) in buildings attached to the base. While the study proved there was no viable business case in the proposed location. It recommended that a location in the south of the country would be viable. A successful project was later implemented using Geoffrey’s report.

Information Technology

Geoffrey is familiar with a wide range of information technology. Most of this experience is with Microsoft operating systems and user software from Ms Dos 3.1 onwards. He has experience of a wide range of software including Microsoft Office, EPOS, Internet and Security software. He can competently use and install hardware and software.

While at Wilton House Garden Centre Geoffrey was part of the first line contact for technical problems and would liaise with  technical support where required. His job made him responsible for maintaining the data integrity of the EPOS System. This required investigating anomalies, recommending remedies for consideration by the manager or technical support, reporting any escalating issues, collecting data for weekly and monthly finance and stock reports. Data collection would often require liaison with other department heads.

Management

As General Manager for Koinonia (Salisbury), Geoffrey was required to provide the stakeholders with regular highlight reports and took an active role in the decision making process. His roles at Salisbury Hospital and Wilton Garden Centre required him to liaise with department heads on a regular basis. All three posts required strong administrative skills, strategic planning, adaptive working approach, methodical investigative skills, task prioritisation, clear decision making and excellent communicative skills.
Geoffrey is able to communicate at levels up to board level within an organisation, is adaptable to changing situations, He can to take concepts learned in one situation and effectively apply them elsewhere and has a methodical approach to work. He is able to prioritise his workload to meet deadlines, collect and collate data into usable formats such as reports and is able to work under his own initiative or as part of a team.
