For (too many) years now, I have accumulated, bought and sold musical instruments. Growth in this direction has been a natural progression from that of a player seeking ever better examples for personal use to today's situation whereby the joy of owning some exquisite instruments has to be tempered with the everyday need to earn a crust! As the saying goes, "everything has a price," and nothing is sacred so... I part-exchange often, happily buying back instruments that I have previously sold against a better one. I also hire instruments at a very minimal price particularly to new students who come for tuition. This also helps folk who are unsure of a purchase to make up their mind with less perceived pressure. In the event of a sale following hire, the hire fees are deducted from the sale price.
