The Picture House
The building that was the Picture House stands almost in the middle of Church Lane. The old
Photograph on the left shows two shops built on to the Picture House. The shop on the left
was a tobacconist and the shop on the right was a Ladies fashion shop. The shops were pulled
down to allow the pavement to be widened. The cinema was converted in to a supermarket and
has been owned by large chains such as Gateways. It is currently owned by Kwik Save as seen
in the modern photograph on the right. The building has lost a lot of it's features and most
of it's charactor but has kept it's distinctive shape.
