Russell is the
'rookie' of the team, joining for the winter series in 2001/2. It was also his
first competitive karting series. Having raced in various other motorsport
disciplines, Alfa's, Porsche's and motocross, he came to the team having met
the 'Guvnor' through corporate karting and business connections.
He has raced both ProKart and ProMax for the
team and was involved in the Le Mans 24 hour pro-kart entries in 2002 &
2003 where the team finished 2nd in Clubman category in both races. Ever
present in the summer series, Russell is usually the starting driver in each
race for Box Tech, out of the kart he will invariably walk into something
(gate, tree, someone else's kart for example) as part of his pre-race
preparation! |
