What made you get into CG modelling?
In
1997, a friend showed me his rendered images on an
Amiga500 (metallic spheres...checkerboard ground...lot of
reflections). In this moment, I was totally fascinated
from the idea using this program (Lightwave4) to create
fantasy worlds in the future. So I stopped drawing comics
and started to render.
How long have you been doing CG modelling for?
I started 1997 with Bryce. Since 1998, I´m using
Lightwave3d.
Whom do you draw inspiration from?
That´s
a really a long list: Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett,
Tolkien, Hesse, E.A.Poe, Lovecraft, Wolfgang Hohlbein,
Goethe (FAUST), Shakespeare, Jules Verne, Yip Man, Buddha,
Konfuzius, Sokrates, Diogenes, Heron, Escher, Dali, Giger,
Rembrand, Picasso, van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, Stephen
Hawking, Taron, Eni Oken, Michael Kamen, Dead can Dance,
Mozart, Grieg, Beethoven, Korn, Pearl Jam, Jamiroqai, Daft
Punk, Sherlock Holmes, Ghandi, Rudi Dutschke...and much
much more.
What is one of your top tips you could give to a fellow
enthusiast?
Be true about yourself and your artistic skills. Start
making easy scenes/models (a watch, an apple, glass of
water), and try to make them good as possible. Read the
Book "Lighting&Rendering" from Jeremy Birn. Try, try,
try...
What project/s are you currently working on at this
present time?
Currently, I´m working on a lot of lowpoly-buildings and
environment for Solstargames (Valour Online), on a whole
Gamedesign for ThinkRenk (El Cid & Quest for Spain) and on
my own Projects (Knightstale, King of Smugglers). Also, I
am selling objects on Turbosquid and The3DStudio.
When you get a creative block, how do bounce back?
Listen to loud music, playing Keyboard, watching a movie,
making sport, playing UT2004, Chess or Stronghold or going
to get some extra sleep.
