What made you get into CG modelling?
I worked as a 2D illustrator for years and was always a
bit intimidated by the realism 3D artists could get with
far less effort than it would take me using an airbrush or
felt tip pens :-) so I saved up and bought Lightwave to
give it a go.
How long have you been doing CG modelling for?
I bought Lightwave version 5.5 the week it was released,
but I cant remember how many years ago that was now!
Whom do you draw inspiration from?
Literally anything and anyone can inspire me really. If I
had to say from whom I'd say the Japanese because I love
the way there art has so much style.
What is one of your top tips you could give to a fellow
enthusiast?
The best tip I was ever given was, if you want to be an
artist try to adopt a certain style. Making a photo-real
mobile phone or poser nude is one thing but YOU wont be
remembered if it lacks your mark.
What project/s are you currently working on at this
present time?
At the moment I am working on concept artwork for three
projects, some product images and a five minute CG film.
When you get a creative block, how do bounce back?
I get those a lot! I tend
to take breaks and read a lot. Reading always helps my
imagination get back on track. Oh and I remind myself that
if my creative block doesn't return... I wont get paid, that
also helps!
