Update

Flickr photos I have just discovered Flickr which looks like a great way to organise and share photos. I especially like being able to view photos as a slideshow by clicking the icon on the top right of the web page. It only took a few seconds to upload a few Yorkshire food pics to start with, and it is easy to add tags, descriptions, comments and more...

The Chill-Chain in the Sky
Food air freight is on the rise. Cargo is growing faster than passenger flights, and the 'chill-chain in the sky' which consists mainly of perishable food such as fruit, vegetables and fish, plus flowers and living plants, is the fastest growing sector for many intercontinental air freight flows. Paper for Green Economics Institute conference, Oxford University 3-4 April 07 outlines developments around the world including airport infrastructure and refrigeration from farm to plate.

Fresh vegetable oil project
Asian Healthy Community Network, Ethnic Foods Action Group and Rose Bridger invite food companies to work with us to produce and market a freshly pressed vegetable oil like the traditional oils used for cooking in Pakistan and other South Asian countries. The product would have an attractive point-of-difference from 'pure' vegetable oils which have undergone multiple stages of chemical and heat treatment, often in Export Processing Zones with poor environmental and employment conditions in countries including India and Pakistan. Asian Healthy Community Network has good knowledge of traditional oil pressing techniques. We would be particularly interested in the possibility of using locally grown crops to create a local supply chain. For more info contact me Rose Bridger
