RECENT PROJECTS AND CURRENT WORK
In September 2009 I finished a two year contract to catalogue the papers of the cartoonist Carl Giles for the British Cartoon Archive at the University of Kent. In late 2006 and early 2007 I surveyed archives and provided advice for the Coors Visitor Centre & Museum of Brewing at Burton-on-Trent and the Institution of Chemical Engineers in Rugby.
In this period I also worked at the Birmingham Archdiocesan Archives on cataloguing and importing records into databases, and completed a pilot survey of websites and cycling archives for the Cycling Touring & Countryside Trust. From January to July 2007 I was a voluntary editorial team member for the Community Archives website.
From 2004-2006 I was Project Officer for Access to Mineral Heritage, a Coal Authority-funded initiative to provide website access to descriptions of UK mining & mineral records held in archives, libraries, museums and elsewhere.
Before that post I was Research Team Manager for the Mersey Gateway Project (2002-2003). This was a digitisation project funded by the New Opportunities Fund, to make 20,000 items from repositories in the Merseyside area available on a website dedicated to the history and growth of the port of Liverpool.
