OTHER WORK
During 2001 I was seconded from Unilever to the Society of Archivists for six months to work on the 'Missing Link' survey of specialist repositories in England.
Before becoming an archivist I was a journalist and worked for the East Kent Gazette from 1977-1980. This explains my subsequent continual interest in publicising whatever work I have been involved with.
POSITIONS HELD
I was Editor of the Business Archives Council of the North Newsletter from 1994-2000 and Editor of the Society of Archivists Specialist Repositories Group Newsletter from 1998-2000. Publications have included the article 'The Missing Link - a map of development & funding needs for specialist repositories in England' (Business Archives Council Principles & Practice Journal, May 2002), and a co-written article on the Access To Mineral Heritage project entitled 'Networking: Beyond Cross-Web Finding Aids' (Business Archives Council Principles & Practice Journal, May 2005).
I am a registered member of the Society of Archivists Society of Archivists and a member of the Museums Association.
