BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
I was one of the archivists working at the Port Sunlight office of Unilever from 1993-2001 and carried out the usual range of archival duties such as appraising, weeding and cataloguing records of corporate departments and operating companies.
This included Unilever's Financial Group and Marketing Division records and material from companies such as Lever Brothers and Brooke Bond. The items dealt with ranged from documents and files to audio visual material and objects (including PG Tips television advert monkey suits).
I administered the worldwide Unilever Information Managers database and rationalised the Unilever archive film stock. This work involved viewing film and video on a variety of equipment including a Steenbeck film viewer and a U-Matic video player.
