Chandlers Ford kick off playing towards the school end. College immediately
break down the Chandlers Ford play and are quickly on the offensive. The ball is
played wide left where George Jones is left free to whip in a trademark cross,
luckily for the ‘Ford’ Ash Harris is unable to connect. Neat interplay
between Tony Worsfold and Ash starts to dominate the right wing and College
begin to push the ball about in their trademark manner. Although the pace of the
game is somewhat subdued, it is effectively controlled by College, and it is
only 4 minutes in before Curtis Robbins get his first chance. Ash is able to
outpace the ‘Ford’ Left Back and produces the first of many meaningful
crosses, Curtis connects well only to see the ball cleared off the line by the
Chandlers Ford keeper and out for a corner. As the pressure continued it was
only a matter of time before the deadlock was broken, and on 10 minutes College
had their reward. George Davis, bursting through from the center of midfield,
united with an in-swinging ball from the right and dispatched it with great
aplomb. Continued periods of unbroken possession by College were creating chance
after chance with a very agile ‘Ford’ keeper saving well from Sam Magri,
George Jones, Ash, and Curtis who was thwarted time after time. It was obvious
that it was only a matter of time before the continuous bombardment of the
Chandlers Ford goal would be rewarded with a second. On 15 minutes the
‘Ford’ defence stood mesmerized as Tony cut in from the right after a great
passing movement, which had started from the College Left Back Ryan Inskip, and
blasted home beyond the stranded keeper. Chandlers Ford continued to show the
‘never say die’ attitude that has seen them hold their own this season and
tried to push forward at ever opportunity only to see their attempts to get back
into the game frustrated by the central defensive pairing of Toby McCauley and
Tom Maddison. Anticipation of the
manifestation of any ‘Ford’ attack had given the defensive quartet, with
Brad Pitney comfortably patrolling the right full back position, time to
distribute the ball meaningfully on what was a rather ‘sticky’ playing
surface. It was from this platform the College were able to exhibit the type of
passing, moving football that Manager Graham Magri has insisted on from every
player called on the wear the blue and white shirt (or yellow on this occasion)
of College Youth.

From the kick off it was apparent that the half time team talk had been one of
missed chances and the need to be ruthless in front of goal. A driving pass from
Sam split the ‘Ford’ back four, Ash cut across in front of the keeper and
with a deft little flick from the inside of his right boot, ‘Henry-esque’ in
it execution, diverted the ball past the advancing keeper. 3 Nil to College –
31 minutes. Chandlers Ford accepted they had to throw caution to the wind and
push ever forward looking for a way back into the game. With the changed
defensive line up still able to hold firm the College keeper Jamie Madden was
rarely called into action, his ability to read any oncoming threat and command
of his defence limiting the possibility of conceding a goal further. The College
movement was more purposeful in the second half and holes soon began to show
throughout the Chandlers Ford side. Goal 4 came on 35 minutes with second half
substitute Chris Harvey latching on to a ball which broke from left to right.
The strike was superb and the keeper, even at full stretch, could do no more
than collect the ball from the back of his net. The home team had not lost
belief in their cause and continued to push for a goal. A rare break down the
College left and a cut into the right created probably the best ‘Ford’ move
of the game. Only quick thinking and hard tackling from Karl Ellis, a colossus
in the second half, stop a creditable strike on the College goal.

Josh Pritchard
Josh Pritchard was quickly in the thick of the action and a neat pass and return
put Ash through for his first real chance of the second half, a dipping strike
past an oncoming defender narrowly skimming the cross bar. The opening for Goal
5 fell to Jordan Phillips, whose industry in midfield had caused continued
pressure on the Chandlers Ford defensive line; an 18 yard driven lob from the
right hand side wrong footed the keeper and nestled into the back of the net,
just reward for the young striker.

George Jones
With Curtis and Ashley continuing to test the ‘Ford’ defence and agility of
their keeper it was only a matter of time before ‘College’ recorded their
sixth goal of the game. Curtis split the back of Chandlers Ford wide open with a
clever pass and as George Davis prepared to pull the trigger he was savagely cut
down. With the Referee immediately pointed to the spot, up steps Ash Harris. A
few steps back, a look at the keeper, a short quick run, spot kick taken and
duly dispatched bottom left - 6 Nil on 45 minutes.
College Youth Substitution on 48 minutes
Off Brad

On
Ryan Inskip
It was now damage limitation for the beleaguered Chandlers Ford team and they
looked to play out the remaining 12 minutes with 11 behind the ball. The ensuing
congestion in the ‘Ford’ half limited the goal scoring opportunities for
College but they continued to pass the ball around rarely conceding possession.
Final College Youth Substitution on 51 minutes
Off Ashley
Harris
On
Sam Magri
The final 9 minutes of the game saw College push hard for a seventh goal only to
be frustrated by a keeper in fine form on the day, a definite candidate for the
Chandlers Ford “Man of the Match Award”. In the end the final whistle
couldn’t come quick enough for ‘Ford’ who although beaten on the day
showed great commitment and industry.

Stubbington FC kick off playing North, towards the Eastern Road. Stubbington
look to put pressure on the College defence from the outset, driving long balls
into the danger area, optimistic that the pace of their strike force can create
an opening. Early exchanges suggest that this will be as tough a game as the
previous encounters between the two teams. College break free down the left and
George Jones whips in a useful ball, as the Stubbington keeper comes to collect
he fumbles and allows the ball out for a corner. As
the ball breaks from the ensuing corner Sam Magri pings one in from left to
right, ever alert to an opportunity Ash Harris out jumps a defender and produces
a superb volley past the keeper from close range. Goal
1 - 8 minutes
Stubbington continue to play the long ball game through the middle of
the park, but the central defensive pairing of Kyle Ellis and Tom Maddison are
ever present to snuff out the threat, sweeping the ball wide for the Full backs
to start another College counter attack. On 14 minutes College are gifted a
corner after the Stubbington keeper miss kicks a clearance. George Jones
presents a perfectly weighted in swinging ball which is only half dealt with by
the Stubbington defence, as the ball falls into the box the College left back
Ryan Inskip, who has still to score in a Blue and White shirt, steps up and
strikes a return from a tight angle only to see his shot ricochet back off the
upright. The weather conditions help neither team, but the low level wind
effects the College passing game with an unusual amount of unforced errors. A
problem that the College manager Graham Magri is quick to point out. Continued
pressure from College Youth in the middle of the park was beginning to tell and
it was only a matter of time before College found the net for the second time.
Kyle Ellis found his route unfairly impeded and George Davis started a move off
from the resultant free kick. A short pass to Dunmola Adalade set the team off
on another foray down the right, Ash was able to run onto a neat ball from the
right back and as he cut in behind the Stubbington defence he released a squared
ball across the face of the goal to a waiting Curtis Robbins.
Goal 2 - 22 minutes Stubbington did not allow their heads to drop and
pushed ever forward looking for a quick route back into the game. The College
defence were alert to the long ball and adjusted themselves to shut down danger
as quickly as it manifest itself, Tom, stifling yet another attack pushes the
ball wide left, Ryan gathers and tries a diagonal ball over the midfield, Ash
collects, turns, burst through the Stubbington back four and blasts home past a
stranded keeper, for the third of the game.
Goal 3 - 26 minutes As College settle into their passing style of
football the Stubbington defence are tested time and again. On 29minutes George
Davis plays a one two with Sam and tries a shot from distance, the keeper appear
to have the shot, which is on target, covered but poor handling allows the shot
to nestle in the back of the net.
Goal 4 - 29 minutes Even at four down away from home Stubbington
continue to push looking for a chance to salvage something from the game and on
the stroke of half time they were given a golden opportunity. A rare slip from a
stalwart College defence gifted the visitors a penalty on 31 minutes. Up steps
the Stubbington number 7, he strikes the ball sweetly only to see it bounce of
the cross bar and out for a goal kick. Undeterred, Stubbington continue to
create pressure sensing the potential of getting a goal back before the break.
As they surge forward the assault is broken down by the home teams midfield
pairing of Sam and George. A neat one two with an advancing Kyle Ellis creates
another hopeful long range strike for George Davis, again the keeper appears to
have it covered only to see it ripple the back of the net. This is effectively
the final action of the first half. Goal 5 - 33 minutes

College Youth start the play for the second half facing the wind which is likely
to give the advantage to the visiting team. It is obvious that Stubbington do
not intend to modify their tactics as yet another long ball is played over the
heads of the College back four. The game quickly becomes a mid field battle with
Stubbington having a great deal of the play and forcing the pace of the game.
College are given a chance to extend their lead on 39 minutes when the industry
of Sam Magri in the midfield interrupts another Stubbington attack, neat
interlinking play allows Ash to break wide right and feed a slide rule pass
through to Curtis who finishes with the ease of a striker in form. Goal

The College formation alters slightly to accommodate the right winger Charlie as
Chris slots in to the centre of midfield and the home team push to maintain the
advantage. The game was turning out to be a real battle throughout the park with
Stubbington giving as good as they got and it is somewhat against the run of
play that College extend their lead further. Curtis Robbins, whose work rate in
the second half had been excellent, picked
out Ash who was drifting wide right, as he rounded a defender he sees an opening
and smashes it past the outstretched keeper. Goal 7 - 43 minutes

Jordan who was now playing alongside Ash was quickly in the fray as Stubbington,
who would not lie down, switched their play looking to gain an advantage down
the flanks. Only a solid performance from the defence quartet was limiting the
likelihood of a Stubbington goal, but it seemed only a matter of time before
Stubbington breached the College line. The Stubbington No. 5 is able to latch
onto a free ball just outside the box and the shot, which is well struck, beats
Jamie Madden for the first time that day. Stubbington

George Jones
The wind in the second half was against College, who still looked to play the
ball on the ground and their passing and movement frustrated an ever hungry
Stubbington. George Jones who has returned to the game finds his options limited
down the left and looked to move the ball through the middle of the park only to
find the path shutdown. As Stubbington are awarded with an endless stream of
Free Kicks College start to play with a ‘siege mentality’ and a
determination not to concede a second in a period of constant pressure from the
visitors. The awareness and agility of the College keeper Jamie Madden is called
upon to save from the Stubbington No. 7 on three successive occasions. The final
5 minutes of the game saw College push hard against an ever pressing Stubbington
and this intensity was rewarded with a penalty for a ‘hand ball’ on 63
minutes. George Davis who was searching for a third stepped up to the spot but
was unable to beat the keeper who was much improved in the second half. The
final whistle came as College were looking to force another chance from a free
kick but all involved new they had been in a hard game.

Stubbington FC kick off playing North, towards the Eastern Road.
College, who are down four players, look to progress to the
Semi Final of the League Cup for the second successive year at 11 a side, but
need to beat an ever improving Stubbington side. Stubbington are quickly into
the attack which seems to catch College off guard, and early chance appears to
be well covered by the College keeper Jamie Madden but a wicked deflection via a
divot in the penalty box sees the ball bobble into the net. Not the start Graham
Magri had been looking for. Goal
to Stubbington on 1 minute
Dropping behind so early in the game seemed to wake the boys up and
they started to play with a real sense of urgency and purpose. As we had seen in
the previous weeks encounter, Stubbington had no real answer to continuous waves
of College attack. Good work from Tony and Ash down the right was causing the
visitors defensive line all sorts of problems and it was on 7 minutes that the
score line was leveled. Curtis Robbins working in from the left hand side of
the field connected with a ball from midfield and stroked it past the keeper. Goal 1 to College 7 minutes.
Almost immediately from the restart College are back on the attack,
Toby McCauley starts the move off with a run down the right hand side and Curtis
is on hand to finish with aplomb, 2 in a minute. Goal
2 to College 8 minutes. It is an impressive period in the game for
College Youth and their passing play makes them dominant throughout the pitch.
Curtis starts a move with a pass back to Toby, on as right back, the ball is
pushed on to Ash, wide right, and a little dink forward to Tony allows Ash to
run on for the overlap. Tony spots to run and feeds his team mate who breaks
free of the Stubbington back four. His weighted cross is met by the right boot
of Curtis who smashes it past a forlorn keeper, for the fastest hatrick this
season. Goal
3 to College 10 minutes. Sam Magri can claim an assist for number four
as his continued industry in midfield and
an eye for a slide rule pass put Curtis in the clear again. An intelligent run
in from the right saw the in-form striker one on one with the keeper, the ball
was well struck and the resultant goal never in doubt. Goal 4 to College 18 minutes.
College were at this totally in control of the game. A long ball over the
top from Ashley Harris, who was playing with a fluency that would grace any
arena, put Curtis through again, this time the College No. 8 had to use his
upper body strength in a shoulder to shoulder confrontation with the Stubbington
Centre Half. In his current form there could be only one winner. Goal
5 to College 21 minutes. To any that had had the pleasure of watching
Stubbington in the past it was no surprise when their continued doggedness in
attack paid off. A series of poorly defended corners caused a level of confusion
in the College goal mouth and towards the end of the first period the ball was
bundled across the line. Goal to Stubbington 25 minutes.
With their heads held high the visitors battled for ever ball never allowing the
home team to settle, but as the first half came to a close some neat football
across the midfield line set Ash Harris up for his first of the day. George
Davis out left to Curt, a neat cut in, measured ball out right to Ash and a
superb right foot finish. Goal 6 to College 30 minutes.

College Youth started the second half as they had finished the first and within
2 minutes of the restart Curtis had completed a double hatrick. Goal 7 to College 32 minutes.
The lead was further extended a minute later following good work from the
midfield pairing of Sam and George, another well weighted ball through to the
right allowed Ash to double his tally with a clinical finish.
Goal 8 to College 33 minutes.
Stubbington continue to surge forward at every opportunity and the No. 7 has a
20 yard free kick well saved by the College keeper on 41 minutes. The desire to
get a goal back tended to leave the Stubbington defence stretched and the
College counter attacking style of play exposed this weakness four more time in
the final 15 minutes. An excellent in-swinging corner delivered by the skilful
left winger George Jones wrong footed the defensive line allowing George Davis
to prod home at close range. Goal
9 to College 45 minutes. Ash finished off from great interlinking play

As has been witness in previous encounters Stubbington display a ‘never say
die’ attitude of which they should be rightfully proud and on 51 minutes they
are unlucky to see a well struck free kick go over the College bar and out for a
goal kick. Another excellent passage of passing movement sees the ball from Curt
to George Davis, in the centre of the park; out left to an eager George Jones
who whipped the ball back in from the left for Ash to finish with inside of his
right boot for his third of the day. Goal 11 to College 53 minutes. The final goal of the day was
created and scored by Chris Harvey. Collecting the ball in midfield Chris out
muscled and out paced the Stubbington defence blasting the ball home just inside
the left hand post. Goal
12 to College 60 minutes. Although they were beaten on the day
Stubbington should be proud of the way they continued to test the College
defensive line. Solid performances from Ryan, Kyle, Brad, Tom and Toby over the
60 minutes enabled College to build on a sound foundation and secure a
semi-final appearance next week.

Kick Off delayed by 20 minutes due to concerns over the frozen state of the
pitch The winner of this fixture will secure a place in the League Cup Final,
and College were looking to repeat their experience of last season. Crofton
Saints FC kick off playing towards the Roller Park. Early effort comes from
College as they look to capitalize on any Crofton mistakes. Crofton appear
satisfied to try and soak up pressure and counter attack. Dunmola, who is
playing a midfield roll alongside the ever present George Davis, uses his pace
to good advantage and looks to feed through to the striking partnership of Ash
and Curtis when ever possible. Following a period of neat short passing from
College, Tony Worsfold finds himself free on the right. He is able to deliver a
telling cross which is dispatched with great aplomb by Ash Harris past a
flailing keeper. Goal
1 to College 11 minutes.
From the resultant kick off Crofton look to push forward but the attack
is quickly put down. Ash breaks free from the midfield and provides a slide rule
pass to Curtis from the right. Curtis takes the ball passed the keeper before
coolly passing the ball into an empty net. Goal 2 to College 13 minutes.
At only two down Crofton Saints are not out of the cup tie by any means
and continue to try to find an opening past the resolute defensive pairing of
Tom Maddison and Sam Magri. On 25 minutes Crofton Saints push through the
midfield and try to force the ball through the College defensive line. Right
back, Toby McCauley out paces the home team striker but his clearance is
intercepted by a Crofton player who surges forward. The College left back, Ryan
Inskip tackles hard, wins the ball and starts another move up the College left

blasts the ball into the roof of the net. A strike that was never going to be

second half effort and George Jones causes the home team all sorts of problems

A game in which we scored good ‘team goals’. There was
excellent movement of the ball from front to back. The substitutes who came on
played as an important as those who started the game to a second successive

Now we wait and see who we have in the final and whoever it is, it will be

The
game kicked off with college attacking the car park end. Like most sides playing
against College, Portchester had obviously been fired up by their manager and
were contesting each and every ball. The early pressure came from the visitors
but the College defence held firm. The first real chance of the match
came on ten minutes when a long range Tony Worsfold effort was partially fumbled
by the visitors’ keeper but quickly reclaimed. The game continued as a battle
in the mid- field with College trying to get the ball down and play in spite of
quick strong Portchester challenges. College won the first corner of
the match after 12 minutes and from the resulting Tony Worsfold shot the keeper
pulled off a fine save. On 15 minutes the visitors forward broke clear of the
College defence and seemed likely to be through on the keeper only to slip up
and the chance was gone. The visitors continued to work hard in mid-field
denying College time on the ball and this led to a number of fouls being
conceded by College players in their attempts to win the ball although the
visitors were unable to capitalize.

From
the kick off it was obvious that the Graham Magri, the College manager had
called for the players to up their work rate and to impose their qualities on
the match. This resulted in early pressure from the home team which led to the
first corner of the second half after only 3 minutes. From the resulting corner
Ashley Harris rose well to head the ball goal wards only to see it rebound off
the far post and be cleared to safety. It seemed only a matter of time before a
goal would come. College continued to exert pressure on the Portchester defence
and won corner after corner. After 8 minutes of the second half the equalizer
finally came with Ashley Harris converting from close range from another College
corner. This goal was hotly disputed by the Portchester players who claimed
hand-ball although the referee was well placed and awarded the goal. Goal
1-1 College 38 minutes.
College
continued to push on for the winning goal and George Jones shot narrowly wide
after good approach play from Curtis Robbins. The College mid-field and forwards
were now finding more space and began some good inter passing moves which were
opening up the Portchester defence. On twelve minutes a good move involving
Curtis Robbins and George Davis resulted in a break into the box by George Jones
who was tripped by the defender and the referee pointed without hesitation to
the penalty spot. The Portchester management and supporters disputed the award
of the spot kick but again the referee was well placed and the award was
correct. From the penalty Ashley Harris dispatched the ball past the keeper and
into the bottom left hand corner. Goal 2-1 college 42 minutes.

This

Congratulations to all the players including the substitutes on a very good and

Ash goes close on 5 minutes; a well struck shot is saved by the keeper and again
a minute later only to see the ball go agonizingly close past the back post.
Good work throughout the College side is creating more and more opportunities
and it is only a matter of time before they reap their rewards. A well weighted
pass from Tony put Ash clear. His stinging shot his only parried by the keeper
and Jordan Phillips is there is follow up with a simple tap in. Goal 2 to College 11 minutes
Conceding a second goal spurs
Crofton on and they have a period of maintain pressure as half time approaches.
Solid defending from both Sam and Ryan ensure a Crofton foray down the College
left is repelled.

Kyle Ellis and Brad Pitney
Kyle takes up a position in the centre of defence and Brad drops in at right
back College Youth kick off the second half playing towards the skate park. The
manner of play quickly settles down and the two teams attack and counter without
either side emerging a clear winner.

As in the first period College put together some excellent interplay, moving the
ball tenaciously from defence through the middle of the park into a scoring
opportunity. Resolute defending from the home team thwarts the best endeavours
of the league leaders as the frustration mounts.

Tom Maddison
With the reintroduction of Tom within the defensive line Sam moves into the
centre of midfield with the hope that College can clinch the all important third
goal and secure the title. College now play with more bite in the centre, but
uncharacteristically concede a free kick 20 yards from goal. Crofton Saints who
posses a number of ‘big hitters’ within their ranks push forward looking to
reduce the deficit. The dead ball is well struck and dips at the last second to
leave the College keeper no chance to save.
Goal to Crofton Saints 51 minutes Having pulled a goal back the home
side push ever forward looking to level the game. This single minded approach
starts to create openings at the back into which College counter. The final push
comes from Charlie Cook who is playing well down the left slide, a good pass
into the path of Tony allows the midfielder the opportunity to run at the
Crofton back line; good footwork gives Tony space from which he picks out Ash.
As the striker controls the ball with the outside of his right boot the result
is never in doubt, a superb chip sees the ball float past the outstretched
keeper and nestle into the back of the net. Goal 3 to College 52 minutes

Well played by all, particularly the substitutes
who came on and quickly got to grips with the game. A difficult place to come
and play, against a team that never give up and that have improved over the
season. With this result the team are crowned League Champions.

This
was the last time College were to meet Portchester in the league this season,
but the old rivals were hoping to meet in the league cup final at the end of
April.
Sam Magri remained in
the back four and was joined by Dunmola. Tony switched wide right and Jordan
took up a central midfield role. Curtis rejoined strike partner Ash up front.
These matches have
started to become somewhat of a grudge fixture as the two top teams in the
league look to battle it out for superiority. Portchester kick off but are
immediately pegged back as College counter. An early corner to the home side
sees Sam blaze his header over the bar. The visitors look to counter at every
opportunity and on 13 minutes are awarded a free kick just inside their own
half. The College defensive line, which has been resolute all season, deal with
the aerial threat and push the team forward looking to attack quickly. Ash cuts
in from the right and squares the ball to George Jones who sees his shot
continue to rise and skim the cross bar.
College continued to
look the better of the two sides during the early exchanges and it was no
surprise when the deadlock was broken in their favour. George Davis’s solo run
was finished with a mouth watering left foot curler that cut in off the far
post, leaving the Portchester keeper open mouthed.
Goal

As Portchester look to attack down the College left,
Ryan Inskip anticipates the move and breaks play down with a hard challenge,
taking a touch he spots a run from Curtis Robbins and pick out the striker with
a diagonal through ball. Curtis, with his back to goal, lays the ball off to an
advancing Sam Magri who plays the pass with his first touch and sets Ash Harris
free. The finish is vintage Harris and the resultant billowing net a foregone
conclusion. College are two up. Goal

A straight swap at right back Portchester continue to push forward in search of
a way back into the game and are rewarded on 45 minutes. College are unable to
clear their lines and the ball is bundled over the line. Goal to Portchester 46
minutes. Shortly
after the restart Portchester had a chance to level the game when a long range
looping shot ricocheted off the College crossbar and on 51 minutes Jamie Madden
was called on to make a fine save high to his left.

Not
the prettiest of games but a result that was dug out by all players. We had to
dominate and work hard to create any opportunity. It is getting harder, as the
other teams in the league get better and we need to constantly be at our best.
Good contest and well won

This was the final league game for College against
an ever strengthening Crofton Saints. College had been depleted by illness and unavailability but graham was
able to field a strong side for the final home game of the season
As in recent games
Sam Magri remained in the back four and was rejoined by Toby McCauley playing
right back. Tony switched back to the centre of midfield and Jordan again took
up a central forward role alongside Ash. One other change was Charlie Cook who
came in for George Jones on the left hand side
The visitors have
always shown a level of skill and determination that has made them able
opposition and today’s encounter was certain to contain the type of attacking
football witnessed in earlier meetings.
Crofton kick off,
playing away from the Eastern Road end, but a slip in the center sets College on
a quick counter attack. Jordan Phillips cuts in from the left and teases a ball
into the feet of Ashley Harris, who finishes well past an amazed Crofton keeper.
Goal 1 to College 1 minute.
The early strike put
the visitors on the back foot and allows College to past the ball freely
dominating in all areas of the pitch. Excellent work from Chris Harvey on the
right creates more and more opportunity and it is obvious that the boys are
looking to finish the league fixtures on a high with a 15th straight
win. Both full backs look to push forward and overlap the wingers when the
opportunity presents itself and this pushes Crofton further back into their own
half.
The second goal was
always likely and the opening fell to Charlie Cook who was playing wide left. A
move by Chris Harvey pulled the defence right allowing space for Ash to cut
inside his shot was only half dealt with and Charlie stepped up and calmly slot
home. Goal
2 to College 21 minutes.

Dunmola Adalade
Chris, who was producing some of his best football
this season for College, had received a knock earlier in the game and was unable
to shake it off, Dunmola came in as a straight replacement. The one touch
football being played by the home side could, at times, be labelled as
‘exhibition’ and was being enjoyed by all spectators. It was as a result of
another move from defence to the front that College found the back of the net
for a third time in the first half. Tony Worsfold finished the move following a
great ball from Jordan Phillips, just rewards for Tony whose work rate had been
second to none in the opening period of the game. Goal 3 to College 25 minutes.
College could have been further ahead on the stroke of half time as
Dunmola found himself one on one with the Crofton keeper. The side foot shot was
well struck and had the beating of the keeper, but Dammy had to watch as the
ball went agonisingly wide of the far post.

Graham decided not to change the line up at half
time.
College kick off the second half playing away from
the Eastern Road end continuing to show strongly as they had in the first half.
On 11 minutes Ash had a well struck shot pushed onto the post by the Crofton
keeper and Jordan Phillips was unlucky to see his shot strike the crossbar
following an excellently weighted long pass from Ryan Inskip. Goal number four
always seemed likely and the opportunity fell to Ash who received the ball on
the edge of the box. College had
broken down a Crofton attack and some good individual work from George Davis in
the middle of the park had split open a back pedalling defence, a trade mark
pass found Ash who struck the ball superbly well and found the net from
distance. Goal 4 to College 52 minutes.
The winning margin could have been extended further two minutes before
time, when a fantastic 20 yard pile driver from the right boot of Tony Worsfold
struck the crossbar and ricocheted out for a goal kick.

We
were down to our bare bones today and the players out there did us proud.
Excellent football at times and a demonstration of how the game can and
should be played. Really pleased for the whole team.
