I was initiated into the Order through my mother lodge - Cross 2343 on 7th October 1993, obtaining my 2nd Degree on 17th November 1994 and was then inducted to the 3rd Degree on 6th July 1998.  I have been a Trustee of the lodge since my second degree raising and find it a really relaxing way of enjoyment with the guys who are involved.  The strange thing is that my Dad is also a buff at the same lodge and it is very strange when you have to call him Bro John.

I introduced the Cross Lodge to the Internet back in 1999 and our first ever website was started by using an easy build program supplied by a network provider, but this was not enough for me as I am a bit of an internet freak and thought that I would do my utmost to learn HTML....sadly without much success, so after purchasing the Microsoft Office 2000 program I took to learning that way, and hence this is the outcome today...which you are currently looking at.

Raising money for charity is always my first port of call and believe me I have done some strange things to do it!  For instance, how about putting on a tutu and dressing up as a worn out Christmas Tree Fairy?  Certainly raised a lot of laughs as well as a lot of cash...

Other fund raising included calling Bingo for Top Rank, which I was able to raise in excess of £1,500 for our PGP's appeal at the time.

Apart from the work that I do in the RAOB, I am also a keen member of an amateur drama group called the "Congress Players" and have performed on stage quite a few times with them.  I prefer to do comedy's more so, but have done a straight drama in between.

I play the organ if I am not on the net, which isn't very often (on the organ that is)....I come home from work and then I am on my computer from the moment I walk through the door!  I also like photography and recently bought the top of the range digital camera to go with my computer.

I have visited brothers around the country.  My most recent visit was to a Brother Garry Harland who was recently raised to the Second degree, so I packed my case a travelled up there to see his ceremony performed, creating total chaos to raise lodge funds much to the delight of the Minor Lodge. 

I then travelled down south to Southampton to visit Bro Paul Knight ROH and his family.

Both of which I have chatted with on the net.  Since then I have been inundated with requests from members around the country to come and witness their raisings, but alas, work must be done to earn the cash so I haven't been able to attend.  I am hoping to travel around again next year, so keep your eyes peeled on the Upcoming Events page on this website - maybe we could meet up!
