Microsoft Office Web Components (OWC)

What are they:

The Microsoft Office Web Components are a collection of Component Object Model (COM) controls for publishing spreadsheets, charts, and databases to the Web, and for viewing the published components on the Web.

Where can I obtain them:

OWC's ship with the Microsoft Windows Operating System, however, you may not have the most recently available version(s) - see the table below for your current OWC capability (updates are available directly from Microsoft).

Will I be able to see them:

OWC's are controlled through an ActiveX interface, therefore if your Browser does not support ActiveX components (refer to the table below) you will not be able to view or interact with the OWC's in this section of the web site.

However, for cross-browser support, I have tried to replicate the outputs as included images but, due to the scope of the (forthcoming) OWC work, I have limited those images to a select few to prevent a drain on the available web-space.

Furthermore, as I interact with the OWC's via JavaScript, the whole of this section of the web-site requires JavaScript to be enabled.

Component Availability

If there is no table below, you do not have JavaScript enabled.
