Son of John & Amy and brother of Phyllis. of 9 Ropewalk, Dover, Kent. Born: Dover, Kent. 12th February, 1923. Cemetery: Durnbach  War Cemetery. Ref: 7. A. 4.
DONALD JOHN, HALKE. Left Binbrook Aerodrome in Lincolnshire on the 24th February, 1944 in 460 Squadron Lancaster Bomber for an air raid on a ball bearing factory in Schweinfurt, Germany
He Failed to return on 25th February, 1944 and was reported missing in action.
His Remains are buried at Durnbach War Cemetery near Bad Tolz in Bavaria, Area 7 – Row A – Grave 4, alongside the other six members of his crew, three each side of him. There are memoriams at Lincoln Cathedral and one for 460 Squadron at Binbrook Aerodrome.

MOORE, GEOFREY GERALD. 195650. Sapper, Royal Engineers. Mining Corps. Died: 18/01/1943. Age 50. Son of Henry Gerald of Dover Kent. Born: Dover, Kent. Enlisted: Dover, Kent. Residence: Dover, Kent. Cemetery: Eythorne Baptiste Church. Ref: Row 4.

PADDOCK, ALAN GEORGE. 204311. Captain. Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment, 2nd Bn. The Hertfordshire Regt. Killed in action: Myanmar, Burma. 27/01/1944. Age 21.  Son of John Edward and Ethel Grace Paddock (née Bullard) of 38 Marine Parade, Dover, Kent. Born: Dover, Kent. 21/3/1922.  Enlisted: in the ranks in 1940 and later commissioned. PILCHER, THOMAS LEONARD DAVID. 7959676. Trooper, Royal Armoured Corps. Died: 14/01/1943. Age 19. Son of Benjamin Albert and Armie Sarah Pilcher, of  Buckland, Dover, Kent. Cemetery: Charlton, Dover Kent. Ref: Sec. 2.U. Grave 14  (not on the Dover War Memorial)

RAYSBROOK, SIDNEY ERNEST FREDERICK. C/KX 128707. Stoker 2nd Class, Royal Navy. H.M.S. Repulse. Died: 10/12/1941. Age 30. Son of Sidney Raysbrook, of  Buckland, Dover, Kent. Memorial: Chatham Naval Memorial, Ref: 48. 2.

HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse (Force Z under the command of Admiral Tom Phillips) were sunk on 10th December 1941 by Japanese warplanes, about 50 miles from the coast of Kuantan in Malaya. The loss of life was the greatest ever experienced by the Royal Navy in one incident; over 840 officers and men died.

The Repulse lost 27 officers and 486 men, the Prince of Wales 20 officers and 307 men.
