Ronald James Dixon. 1925-1947 Ronalds Headstone Ronald James DIXON, born 1 Aug 1925 in Dover (Kent), baptized 10 Sep 1925 at St Bartholomew, Charlton, Dover (Kent), occupation 1 Aug 1939 - 6 Dec 1944 Apprentice Plumber - Morecroft & Sons, Dover, resided at 11 West Street, Dover (Kent). Ron was conscripted as soon as his apprenticeship finished. Signalman 14887768 - Royal Corps of Signals. He served in India during the latter part of World War Two, and afterwards in Malaya. Died 19 Sep 1947 in Malaya - Aged 22, buried 1947 at Cheras Road Civil Cemetery, Kuala Lumpa, Malaya. (Ron was electrocuted whilst working on power lines near Kuala Lumpur, Malaya). The last communication between Ron and his Mother indicates that he expected his “demob number to come up soon”, and that he would be “home for Christmas”. copyright-©Dave Dixon.
