Ronald James DIXON, born 1 Aug 1925 in Dover (Kent), baptized 10 Sep 1925 at St Bartholomew, Charlton, Dover (Kent), occupation 1 Aug 1939 - 6 Dec 1944 Apprentice Plumber - Morecroft & Sons, Dover, resided at 11 West Street, Dover (Kent). Ron was conscripted as soon as his apprenticeship finished. Signalman 14887768 - Royal Corps of Signals. He served in India during the latter part of World War Two, and afterwards in Malaya. Died 19 Sep 1947 in Malaya - Aged 22, buried 1947 at Cheras Road Civil Cemetery, Kuala Lumpa, Malaya. (Ron was electrocuted whilst working on power lines near Kuala Lumpur, Malaya). The last communication between Ron and his Mother indicates that he expected his “demob number to come up soon”, and that he would be “home for Christmas”.      copyright-©Dave Dixon.     Back

DIXON, REGINALD JAMES. 8976. Serjeant, Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry. 2nd Bn. Killed in action. France & Flanders. 25/09/1915. Born: Dec 1890 in Buckland, Dover Kent. Enlisted:  Shornecliffe, Folkestone Kent. Residence:  Tower Hamlets, Dover Kent. Memorial: LOOS MEMORIAL.

He married Elsie Mabel NORLEY, 25 Dec 1912 at St Bartholomew, Charlton, Dover (Kent), resided 1915 at 49 Wyndham Road, Dover (Kent).

2.  Herbert Edwin DIXON.  He married Eleanor Kate BOWLES, Dec 1890 in Dover (Kent).

                             Children:

            1.       i      Reginald James DIXON, born Dec 1890 in Buckland, Dover (Kent), Resided Tower Hamlets, Enlisted Shornclife, 8976 Sergeant, died 25 Sep 1915 Killed in Action - France & Flanders.  He married Elsie Mabel NORLEY, 25 Dec 1912 at St Bartholomew, Charlton, Dover (Kent).     Listed on Panel 3 of the Dover War Memorial.

                      ii     Percy Victor DIXON, born 28 Feb 1896 in Dover (Kent), baptized 16 Jan 1897 at St Andrew, Buckland, Dover (Kent), Able Seaman -  J18249 - HMS Natal, died 30 Dec 1915 Aged 19.    Listed on Panel 3 of the Dover War Memorial.

                      iii     Claude Arthur DIXON, born Sep 1897 in Dover (Kent), baptized 6 Nov 1897 at St Andrew, Buckland, Dover (Kent).
