                   I saw this medal at an online Auction in Ipswich and put in a postal bid for it. How did it end up in Ipswich.


Section of War Diary for 28th Nov 1917.  2nd Battalion Middlesex Regiment.
23 Brigade.  8th Division.
WO/95/1713.

Line:

Battalion shelled almost continually. Shelling became intence on Front Line. BELLEVUE 9 roads and tracks from 8.30pm to 10pm. Nearley all shelters  of coys at BELLEVUE were blown in. 9 had to be redug when shelling slackened. Killed 6 OR, Wounded 10 OR.

74, Upper Street, Tilmanstone, Nr Eastry. Kent.

All of the children were born in Tilmanstone.

In 1917 Walter and Clara Cork were living at:

St Martins Church was built in 1901. Are there any Church records between 1901 and 1917 to indicate that the Cork family were members of this Church.
For example did Walter Cork maintain the grounds of the Church
