During the
“Pirate” BBC Essex event on the Ha’penny Pier at Harwich in
August, Pirate Memories ran two competitions for visitors to our
“Flashback 67” exhibition.
Our first was a
‘transmission area’ competition, where we asked you to use your
skill to determine which Offshore radio station broadcast to
which area of the United Kingdom.
We’re pleased to
announce that the winner with an amazing 10/10 score was:
Dan Bransby, from Minster-on-Sea, Isle of Sheppey in Kent.

Our second
competition involved the Emperor Rosko, whom we snapped at the
Radio Academy’s “A Celebration of 60’s Offshore Radio” event on
August 4th at the Sugar Reef Club in London.
We pictured him
‘raving’ at our cameraman, whilst carrying a Tesco carrier bag,
so the “What’s Rosko Saying” competition was born……..See the

We had so many
really good entries, but we think our winner should be:
“Yeah – Right
On…This is Rosko on Radio T.E.S.C.O., broadcasting everything to
everybody…all of the time”
Congrats to:
Stephen Cooke, of Great Finsborough, Suffolk.
for your winning
entry.
Both
winners get to pick two CD’s each from the Pirate Memories
Web-Shop.
