FT-23R FREQUENCY EXTENSION -------------------------- 1) Remove the front cover. 2) Locate the CPU board (the board beneath the speaker). 3) The following jumpers should be set as described: J7 = connected J8 = disconnected J9 = disconnected COMMENTS -------- The Rig will initialize at 50MHz. Pushing the "F" key and then holding the up arrow will set it to the 2M frequencies. The memory channels will NOT display the frequency, but only the channel number. In order to view the frequency, press the "F" key and then press the up arrow . The frequency will reappear including the channel number. The priority will be activated by pressing the "*" key (no need to press the "F" key as before). The bar graph power indication (during TX) will NOT be affected from the HI/LO power switch (the bar graph will show HI power all the time although the HI/LO power switch will affect the transmitter power). The lock range is from about 132 up to 166MHz , but can be adjusted for any 34MHz segment in the band by tuning the ferrite slug in the VCO (on the main board). After adjusting the VCO you will need to readjust the front-end of the radio.
