GB2RS News for 28th September 2014
Every week the RSGB produces a News Bulletin for Radio Amateurs and Short Wave listeners. They are read live on Sunday by a team of readers throughout the UK on HF, VHF and above. I read it in MP3 format for amateurs worldwide. This service is now some 17 years old and on Podbean for the last 3. The text of the bulletin is available on the RSGB Site.
GB2RS in MP3 is widely received. Welcome to listeners in the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Mainland Continental Europe, Russia, USA and Canada, Turkey, Israel, Cyprus, Jordan, China, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Far East, Ulaan Baataar, Australia and New Zealand and South Africa. Latest listeners also include Iran, Pakistan, Costa Rica, Barbados and Egypt. There is a widget you can click on to see who takes the service.
The format used is MP3.
Click the link below to hear the section of news in MP3. To SAVE the whole file use Right Mouse and Save. For Android mobile devices, hover over the text and select "save link" to save the mp3 file to your device.
You can use the embedded players below or download a suitable MP3 decoder (of which there are hundreds on the market).
You can hear the news at any time and even download the files for future use. Many countries including the US, Canada, Australia and others as well as Europe and the UK take part or whole bulletins for retransmission on their own services on local repeaters.
Thanks to Ed DD5LP / VK2JI, to whom I am greatly indebted for all the work he does weekly for this service, to process the files for iPod and other MP3 players. You can subscribe and receive the weekly file using any "podcaster" software or site, the most common being iTunes and The Lounge. Simply search for "GB2RS" and you will find the list of available editions since January 2012. There have been over 100,000 hits from this service alone.
Alternatively to see the text in full and play the audio file online. Go to http://gb2rs.podbean.com . You can also click on the RSS button on this page if you wish the direct RSS feed be sent to a local RSS reader on your computing device. [The RSS feed address is http://gb2rs.podbean.com/feed]

If you have any item you wish aired on GB2RS, please send it to the RSGB (below) - not to me - I just read it - giving as much notice as you can.
NOTE: The bulletin consists now of one part only, the Main news. I intend to discontinue the UK Midlands local News unless anyone still requires it.
