Shining Tor 12/06/2005

and 22/02/2006

Shining tor, I was accompanied this time by my daughter Sarah and my granddaughter Charlotte, Ian G0PLX also in the party as usual. We climbed up from Pyms Chair end and along Cats Tor to Shining Tor, bit windy but a nice steady walk. Took about an hour, maybe a bit longer, but this was the first time out for Sarah and Charlotte who is aged 8. Spent just about half an hour operating and then ate our lunch. Just as I was taking Charlottes photo next to the trig point the rain which had threatened all day came belting down.allmost horizontal from the west. Ian, Sarah and Charlotte I told to start making there way back while I packed up the mast etc. Soon caught them up and after about half an hour the rain stopped. We got back to the car about 17:00, bit wet but in good spirits, I half expected Charlotte to say she would not be coming along again but before we had even reached the car she wanted to know when we were going walking again.

Hopefully in the school holidays she can experience walking in really nice weather and enjoy the fresh air unlike most of her friends from school who don't even go to the local park on a nice day!
