GIRLS BRIGADE
THE 20TH NOTTINGHAM COMPANY
THE MAKE UP OF THE GIRLS BRIGADE CREST
The G.B. crest is worn throughout the world. It was designed by Mrs. Connie Fasham , in 1965 when the three organisations of Girls' life Brigade , Girls' Guildry and Girls' Bigade of Ireland came together to form the Girls' Brigade as we know.
" In the centre a cross , the symbol of Christ and his church, below it a lamp, that our light may shine upon the world, Above it a crown, that we may own Christ as our King , Behind it all a Torch, the flame of Christ's living spirit and our devotion to him"
Girls'
Brigade is an International Christian
Uniformed
Organisation for Girls of all ages.
Sue our Girls Brigade Captain, works really hard for our Company .She encourages the girls and her Officers in a very special way, and gets wonderful results. The Girls have gained lot's of trophies. The District organised several competitions which we took part in,these included the Individual Band, Swimming Gala, Athletics, and Scripture which gained our biggest success, winning three trophies in all. Two of our girls earned their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and have almost completed their Silver. The company is growing, it is wonderful to see the girls go to the front and recieve their appropriate badges and stars for their achievements. Even better on an award giving ceremony which takes place each year. The Company celebrated its 40th anniversary last year.
