Safety Rules
For everyone's safety, the following rules must
be obeyed at all times. Anyone ignoring any of these rules will
be asked to leave.
- You are responsible for your own safety. Neither the
organisers nor the venue owners accept any responsibility
for loss or damage to you or your equipment as a result
of attending this event. All reasonable precautions will
be taken and these safety rules will be strictly enforced.
- (AWS rule 5h) Any system involving the use of pressurised
gas shall be limited to 100 p.s.i. (7 bar)
- (AWS rule 5i) For safety purposes all weaponry must be
able to be shut down remotely.
- (AWS rule 13a) All sharp edges must have protective
covers outside the (covered) arena. Protective gloves
should be worn when handling robots with sharp edges.
- Protective covers must be in place when robots are in the
pit area, and when they are being moved between the pits
and the arena.
- Weapons must not be used when running in uncovered arenas.
- Sharp edges must be covered when running in uncovered
arenas (insulating tape is an acceptable material).
- Frequency control must be obeyed. Under no circumstances
may a transmitter be used without a frequency control peg.
- Only drivers, cameraman and judge(s) allowed in the
designated areas around each arena. Spectators must
remain in the central area.
