Specification

RampAnt is our second Ant-Weight robot, built entirely by James. Here is the current specification.

Drive 2 x SD-200 servos, modified for 360-degree rotation
Receiver Hitec "Feather" HFS-04MC 4-channel.
Weapon Wedge-shaped front and rear. Rear flipper powered by Supertec Naro HP/BB servo.
Batteries 4 x 2/3 AAA 300mAh NiMH cells wired in series to give 4.8V.
Armour 1mm polycarbonate
Chassis 4mm balsa laminated with polystyrene sheet
Wheels Base of plastic baking soda tub, with mouse mat rubber tyres and Dycem treads. The wheels are drilled with many holes to save weight and have balsa-and-polycarbonate "cams" on the faces of the wheels to provide a self-righting mechanism (srimech).
