

Las Palmas is the capital of the island and is the largest city in the Canaries. It has a large bustling selection of shops, bars and restaurants and a lovely sandy beach.
Las Palmas history began long before the islands were ever invaded by us tourists. The city apparently has a Gothic-neoclassical cathedral begun in 1497. It also has a selection of stately homes and court yards.
Below is a small rough map of Las Palmas showing some gay venues if you happen to be in the area. Notice the is not many. This is because most gay people tend to visit Playa del Ingles or Maspalomas.
Below is a picture of the cathedral of Santa Ana. This is one of the oldest buildings in the city of Las palmas and dates from the late 15th century, when the Spanish began to colonize the islands.
