TAXIS

The are approx 350+ taxis in Playa del Ingles alone. The local taxis are clearly marked and run frequently around the town. Generally cheap and fast. Most of the drivers speak English or enough to get you to your destination but be prepared the is the odd occasion when things get lost in translation. If you have a small local map with your hotel / accommodation marked this usually helps. Its always best to get some knowledge of your route, then you can correct any wrong turns before they become a problem. The numbers for them are
Playa del Ingles: 928766767
Puerto Rico: 928152740
Although to be honest I do not think you will need to ring for one.

MAIN LOCAL MARKETS

Playa del Ingles-San Fernando market
Wed & Sat- 9-1pm (this is the biggest market in the south of the island)

Arguineguin market
Tues.- 9-1pm

Puerto Mogan Market
Fri-9-1pm

REMEMBER ALL THIS IS CORRECT AT MY TIME OF WRITING AND MAY HAVE CHANGED SINCE. ALTHOUGH I WILL ATTEMPT TO KEEP EVERYTHING UP TO DATE.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Health information

The is a clinic called the CLINICA IGUAZU and is close to the Yumbo Centre. Most of the staff here apparently speak good english. The Clinic apparently is open 24 hours a day and also houses a dental clinic. The staff here are apparently quite quick and reassuring. Be warned though that prescribed drugs will be quite expensive and that the is possibly a small charge for the appointment. Below is the address for the clinic.

Edificio Iguazu, Avenida Tirajana 26, 35100 Playa del Inglés
