RUABON LLANGOLLEN BALA ROUTE (FICTIONAL)

This is a high detail route so is only really suitable for computers over 1 ghz

although I have run it on a 300 mhz one (What no telegraph poles). Yes there

are poles along the whole route.

This is my interpretation of the Ruabon Barmouth route and is not completly

accurate,  not that you will notice though unless you are carrying out a

 geological survey en-route.

It runs from just north of Ruabon station to Llanuwchllyn just south of

Llyn Tegid / Lake Bala including the start of the Blaenau branch from Bala

junction to Bala town, a route distance of  32 miles. After you leave the

Chester-Shrewsbury main line at Llangollen line junction the line is double track

for 6 miles to Llangollen goods  junction where single line working commences.

All stations and halts are included and there is plenty of scope for goods traffic

especially at the three large yards at Ruabon Corwen and Bala Town.

I have tried to capture the feeling and beauty of the route within the obvious

restrictions of MS Train Simulator. The track layout is almost accurate (MSTS

restrictions  excepted) apart from a missing slip point just north of Ruabon station

which the route editor just would not have (got round with two points). My thanks

go to Okrasa Ghia and his excellent Xtracks.

I have included three simple activities using default stock which allows exploration

of the whole line (lots of station stops)

Installation.

I have kept this as simple as possible apart from Xtracks 3.1 where you must read

the instructions before you install it (especially if you are writing a route). Once you

have installed Xtracks just copy the Llangollen folder to your route folder. You may

need to unpack the included activities, and that's it.

Until I complete the extension to Barmouth (the route editor allowing) I have

decided to refer to the route as the Llangollen route in future (for the sake of

ease and brevity) (Hope you can spell Llangollen).
