These pages represent an abstract of the FIE Rules for Competitions.

The rules apply in all Fencing competitions, international and club level - official and friendly competitions. Some familiarity with these rules is required to fence successfully.

These Rules are obligatory without modification for the ‘Official Competitions of the FIE’, viz.:

- The World Championships, in all categories

- The fencing events at the Olympic Games

- All World Cup competitions.
