Some frequently asked questions, if your question isn't answered here then get in touch. How much do you charge? The price depends on lots of things, click here for more details or contact me for a quote.
Will you play good music? You can tell me what type of music you want playing and provide some requests of what to play (or what not to play), it helps if the tracks are dancable and the majority are known by your guests. If you are going to send me a playlist then please do so at least 2 weeks before the event so I can check I have the tracks with me. On the night I will encourage your guests to request tracks too.
Who will you bring along with you? No one. You are paying for my services and that it what you will get, I don't bring friends along for a night out. I am there to work for you. The only exception to this is if the venue is difficult to get into or I am bringing additional equipment - in which case one other person may help me with the lifting and carrying.
Can I come and watch you DJ? Just as I don't bring friends along with me, I also don't bring other people. When I DJ for you it will be for you and your guests. I wont bring anyone to your party and equally I can't invite you along to someone else's party.
How loud will it be? How bright are your lights? As loud and as bright as you want it to be. When you get in touch, let me know what you want and I will bring the right equipment to give the volume you want whilst keeping the music clear and the lights as bright as you want to create the right party atmosphere.
Is your equipment safe? The venue is asking for your PLI and PAT certificates. Yes it is all safe and it is all regularly independently tested to ensure it is. I can supply a copy of the PAT certificates to you or your venue on request. I have never had an accident with any of my equipment, however I do have full Public Liability Insurance (PLI) and again I can supply a copy of the certificate to you or the venue on request.
Will you play later than agreed? Yes. Please let me know as soon as possible if you want me to play longer than agreed. Most venues have specific licences and you must check with the venue manager before arranging this. There will be an additional fee for each hour or part thereof played. This can be agreed when making the booking.
How will I know you will turn up? I have never failed to turn up at a booked event. On request I can supply a written contract for the booking which includes details on several ways to get in touch. And if you want to get in touch at any time in the run up to the event then you can do.
If we book you, will you send someone else instead? No. If you have booked me then it I will play. I do not have other DJs working for me.
What if you cannot DJ at our party? I know several good DJs in the local area, if I am unable to play I will happily give you their contact details.
What will you wear? Smart shirt, trousers and shoes. Unless you tell me otherwise. For some events I may set up the equipment in a T-shirt (no offensive logos) instead. And as soon as it is all up and running I will get changed.
How long does it take you to set up and pack up? This depends on the venue and the equipment I bring along. On average I would need 45 mins at the start and 45 mins at the end.
Can we use your microphone for speeches and announcements? Yes. Please let me know beforehand if you want to do this.
Do you charge an additional fee based on the distance to the venue? The price I give is for your party, at your venue, for your guests and has no hidden extras. I wont phone up and change the price.
Do you charge an additional fee to set up earlier in the day? Let me know the arrangements when making the booking and there will be no additional fee. If you request a change in the setup time at a later point then there will be an additional fee.
