Formed over thirty years ago the Royston Arts Society is a thriving group with over
80 members.
Afternoon meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 2.00pm
to 4.00 pm, at the Market Hill Rooms, Royston. These are usually practical, with
a still life being provided, but many members work on their current project.
Evening meetings are held in Room 11 at the Royston Town Hall from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.
The second Fridays in the month are practical painting sessions, but the last Fridays
in the month are devoted to demonstrations by professional artists in a wide variety
of media and subjects.
Our main exhibition is held annually in Royston Town Hall, on the last weekend in
September, in conjunction with the Royston Arts Festival. We expect to hang about
300 paintings, and this event is open to non-members. We also have a continuous
display of pictures in Royston Library.
New members are welcome, and when your membership fee for the year has been paid,
you may attend as many painting sessions or demonstrations as you please with no
further charge.
Non members are welcome to visit any of our demonstrations or painting sessions
at a charge of £2.
