New members and visitors always welcome. We have a variety of members whose interests are as varied as the hobby of amateur radio. Whilst some of our members have held their licences for many years, others have more recently undertaken the Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced Licence courses. We are more than happy to support new hams with advice and gentle coaching.

Formed in 1987, we serve the west part of Cambridgeshire that straddles the valley of the river Great Ouse and was the old county of Huntingdonshire. This includes the market towns of Huntingdon, St Neots, St Ives and Ramsey.

Amateur Radio today utilises many different modes of communication: the Morse code from the old days of telegraphy is still popular as it can be deciphered at a weaker signal strength than almost any other mode, but voice telephony is now the most used. The onset of the computer age has led to a tremendous increase in digital modes of communication using the airwaves. There is also a good local following, centred on the city of Cambridge, for live amateur television transmission, although range is limited.
