Click for larger imageFirst to come off was the 4-1 motad exhaust pipes. Once off the bike they are a lot easier to polish all those bits you can't get to where they are on the bike, this was achieved using a  pillar drill fitted with a "Mr Fastener" polishing mop kit.

Next was the back wheel and associated bits including sprocket hub, brake disk were either re-painted or polished.

When it came to the brake calipers i cheated a little and sought expert help, due the difficulty in cleaning alloy properly for painting, Under recommendation i used R.D.Cox & Sons in reading who specialize in blast cleaning and finishing of bike components and would recommend them myself.

I have only describe all the major components but needless to say all the parts taken off including foot rests, stands, brakes cylinders foot brake, carbs etc were either cleaned, painted or polished along the way and all nuts, bolts, washers springs being re-plated, this was the biggest surprise in the fact all the plating cost no more than £30, and the total to complete this restoration was only a tad over £500 with £300 of this accounting for the Red paintwork that again was done by a specialist motorcycle paint shop.
The total time take to complete the restoration was under 2 months.
