The Milton Keynes Speedway Training Track

I was looking through these photo's and suddenly realised that some of these were taken over 20 years ago. Can it really be that I have been messing about with motorbikes that long? It still seems a great shame that despite lots of talk, there is not a new home for the MK Knights to go racing on. Sky sports has done a lot to help re-launch speedway in many ways in many places, so perhaps one day??????
A badly broken collar bone put a stop to my solo career but after having an operation involving a bone graft and a metal plate, I tried to get back on a bike. Sadly to many years of not keeping fit had taken its toll, the mind was willing but the body had other ideas about racing. I had though, though the internet, discovered a group of people who wanted to try their arms and legs at racing. Having offered my advice on several occasions, I even joined them one rainy day at Sheffield, making a whole load of new friends as we got wetter and wetter.
Following that, a new offer came about from a grass track sidecar racer who needed a passenger. One of the group was keen to go and try this and I offered to go along and give some moral support. Little did I realise that a whole new chapter was about to start.....
